Spring Compressors that fit F430

Something like this will be your best bet (see photo below). However you need be very careful when using it.
Another thing to point out is that while it may fit initially you may run into space issues as you start to compress them.
I'd recommend taking out the shock and doing the work outside then reinstalling.

I tried compressing while the shocks were in the car using the tool @robst posted, but there was no way that was going to work. Its fairly quick and simple to remove each shock.

 

I found those, commonly found out AutoZone to rent etc, to be way too big.

I had much better luck with these they're smaller and they fit on there without damaging the threads on the coilovers

I have never found compressors that fit any ferrari well. It was always a risky affair. Unfortunately the best thing I have found is to know the thread pitch of the shock to calculate how much 1 turn is. Then use the motion ratio to calculate how much each turn moves the car. Then say you want 1/2" lower and the match shows that's say 8 turns. Then you take the coilover off the corner and use any spring compressor to compress the spring under ideal control and easily turn the perch. Realize this should be done as a very close guess and that you should have had ideal corner weight before starting and best corner weight after before resetting alignment.

All OEMs make changes a PITA for lowest NVH. In racecars we can jack up the car reach in and dial the rideheight because there is no pressure on the spring at full droop or very light with a helper spring. But racecars have high NVH but motors so loud you don't notice it.

 

I just had to do a strut on my viper. The sketchy harbor freight one didn't fit so I ground it to make it work which was absolutely terrifying.

Yeah, the process is pretty scary to do yourself. I took one shock out and compressed it as much as I dared and it still wasn't enough. Ended up driving it to a Euro shop and they did it for me in 4 hours for $800.

 

These are way too big and they will not work on in 360/430.

I call those hook-screw compressors DEATH STICKS lol.

I’m guilty of using them but after the last time it got pretty sketchy, I was scared, after the bomb was diffused I swore never again. I figured my luck has been used up.

Take it to a shop and live to see another day!

Anyone can take shocks to the shop and have them fixed there. This is certainly true.

However it takes a certain kind of man to not only stare death in the face, but clutch the death sticks with a smile as death itself stares them down and bravely says "I'm going to save myself $70"

At one point it seized up and I was using an impact wrench instead of a ratchet while hitting the threaded rod with a with a hammer trying to aim the whole thing in the least destructive direction - outside behind the largest tree protecting the house and family. The spice of life!
