Wow, Bart Mawer has just done a 1:17.862 lap at SMSP during the WTAC meeting.

    That is seriously quick.

Heavily modified Porsche 968. He ended with 1:17.444, a new record.

Bart is the son of Dave Mawer, a brilliant enginer who worked with Jack Brabham.

Not a lot of Porsche left in that, but I do love the exhaust coming out the door - very racy.

The Gardner circuit is also known as the Grand Prix circuit - it's the original layout and used for all high speed events. It's the only layout where lap times are meaningful.

The Brabham circuit adds 5 tight off-camber corners and is hopeless for fast cars. I've only ever seen that section used as part of the split-off South circuit.
