Curious if Jones and Oscar are communicating at all. A mentoring type communication.

    Stella -
“I think our car traditionally tends to be very good on the rear tyres but, when we deal with front graining, we tend to be on the aggressive side,” he said.

“This made us a bit nervous - especially after Lando had a lock-up on the front left a couple of laps before. For us, normally, this would have been the symptom the tyres were starting to struggle.

“In hindsight, I think there wasn't enough degradation for Leclerc to actually go and beat him on a two-stop, because we missed it by a couple of laps, but couple of laps is a lot.

“So it remains a question mark whether we could have won the race or not. But it looks like there was potentially more in the tyres than what we might have anticipated.

Maybe, but he's not much better and is 30 points down. Enough reasons for me for giving team orders.

Furthermore, Norris had the pace to win some of them, which is something Leclerc has never really enjoyed with cars that lacked race pace. I very much enjoy what Piastri brings to the table.

I was wondering the same thing myself.

Great result for Ferrari today. Absolutely no idea how they did it given how useless their strategy has been for years now. Well done Lec for making that 1 stop work!

McLaren need to have a serious sit down and think about their mess today. No only did they throw the race to a slower Ferrari, but they also managed to, yet again, gift valuable WDC points to Verstappen by not swapping Piastri and Lando. Completely shambolic.

Mag did a great job by getting himself banned for the next race. Hopefully Bearman can show us what the Haas is really capable of at the next gp.

The question of who’s the better driver is irrelevant to the goal of a McLaren drivers champion this year. Lando is so much closer to Max in points it’s counterproductive to NOT swap places with Oscar, whenever feasible.
Next year, let them race. Until and unless one has so much of a points lead over the other it makes little sense to throw points away. Oscar is a big boy and can understand this concept.

No Norris knows he was passed and rightly so - He was slower and didnt keep the lead. Zero sympathy. The better, more astute racer took the lead. When one is racing he should NOT be held back at the start when the pole sitter still cannot complete a good start CONSISTENTLY LOL. Sorry nothing is OWED to Norris at all. Not today.

So how did Colapinto do in the race for a rookie?

He started P18 and ended P12....so he made up 6 places.

It should also be noted that Ferrari seem to have solved their tire problems for now.

No argument there Oscar was quicker today, I’m thinking from the teams perspective. McL is poised to take the constructors lead very soon, but if Lando loses the drivers championship by 11 or less points McL only has themselves to blame.

Glad to see Joe mentioned Colapinto. Just shows how much Sargeant was holding Williams back. Really impressive first race!

    That's one point of view.

I don't know what's in their contracts, but being roughly of similar talent, I doubt if one of them will accept to sacrifice himself for the other.
Unless it's in their contract, of course.

As a F1 follower, and because it's more exiting, I want them to fight against each other like Senna and Prost did, Piquet and Mansell, or Hamilton and Rosberg. Don't you agree ?

Team orders should only be used during the season when one driver has a realistic chance to win the championship, and the other none at all.
In the meantime, let them race, but no contact !!!

interesting F pitwalll called Chuck's pit on lap 16 and he made it clear he felt he could have gone furthher, which wouldve given him more margin t the end.

Can some one tell me why RB came in so early [lap 22 on hards]? going to hards again, a one stop thus foregone on lap 22! and tossed a possible decent finish???! why? are they losing it on nthe wall too?

You are thiking like if you were McLaren's team principal !!
Most people follow F1 as spectators ...

Watching F1 should be about excitement, fight among drivers, not team tactics to score points !!!

    1) Tires were already graining due to a heavy car(fuel) and the tracks ambient temp.

    2) Also of where the cars would end up due to traffic.

    3) Trying for the overcut.

    So, a number of reasons.

Will Buxton gave a scathing post race analysis of Mclaren. It wasn't nice.

.......but who really cares what Will Buxton thinks anyways.

Beware, your repugnant anti-Ferrari biases and prejudices are showing! And these beg a couple of questions:

1/ Why are you on FERRARIchat, if not just to troll?

2/ What team (non-Italian, I presume) do you see as, unlike Ferrari, having more wins this year or not at risk of falling down the championship standings like a lead zeppelin? RBR, sitting on the laurels of the Spanish GP win of 6 races ago? McLaren, who threw away a possible 1-2 finish today? Mercedes, who were invisible today? Maybe last year’s darling team, Aston Martin? They’re really going all out for championships, aren’t they, with their all-star driver line-up, yes? Or are they just going backwards so fast that it’s confusing you, maybe?

We also have him to thank for serving as a guardrail for Russell at the start—neatly clipping his front wing end plate and just as nearly clearing the road for LEC!

I've always been told it is the overtaking person's responsibility to make a clean overtake, so if your front wing gets "clipped" who is responsible ?

Not blaming PIA, just thanking him for being a strong support against RUS front wing during his ill advised outside move on PIA.
