I haven't seen it in person yet but just looking at the pictures, especially the rear ones, I agree it's not pretty.

I've seen it in person. Interestingly, unlike some previous Ferrari designs, 12C doesn't look better in flesh than photos. It actually looks quite out of proportion in person.

I agree despite applauding the fact that Ferrari haven’t followed convention by still making a NA V12 Supercar. It’s physically too big and heavy for me as well as needing £250k of my hard earned plus my 812 for a similar spec 12C.
I’m still not a fan of its aesthetics and really dislike the counterintuitive haptic controls on all Ferraris.

Thanks to all who have chimed in after having seen the car

I dont appreciate the distracting new Ferrari-designed tech featuring the passenger binnacle and the central screen. Adding another 20 menus with their submenus is simply a wonderful way to spend one's time while driving .

The Ferrari haptic system introduces more frustration.

Know what’s pathetic? The designer almost comes out and says something to the effect that because the SF90 has slightly more power, we are going to make the 12 cylinder a feminized restrained GT car.

Great job Ferrari! Way to take your strongest and most desirable engine the NA Ferrari V12 and intentionally sissify it, emasculate its design and turn it into a b$&ch boy for the hybrid turbo cars, ensuring that its long time fans don’t even desire this deliberately weak and submissive design.

A Toyota it certainly isn't and the V12 confirms it. Manzoni swears that it is a Ferrari from a new generation with spatial design. As for many of us a Ferrari still continuous being a land vehicle, the fact that its design resembles that of an airplane makes it undesirable.

Kinda reminds me of the German Rail Zeppelin, a 1930 locomotive that looked like a plane because the designer was engineer Frank Kruckenberg a plane engineer by training. LOL

Agreed. I'm not picking one up that's for sure. I really feel Ferrari's been wondering in the styling department when they broke up with Pininfarina. They had a lot of great designs together but after the 458 and the F12 they have meandered under Centro Stile Ferrari...here's my hit list and miss list starting in 2010's (and mind ya'll totally my opinion and just looks only so no offense to anyone who has one):

    Hit List

458 (it was perfect and they milked the design until the 296 so for over 12 years)
F12 (Elegant, classy and still looked aggressive)
F12 TDF (More aggression, more cool points)
F8 (looked like a completed evolution of the 458 and it's a shame that they didn't give it a Challenge/Pista/Competizione version to send it off)
LaFerrari (For some reason they always get the top end designs very, very right)
SP3 Daytona (I'd light every Ferrari made the last 10 years on fire just to get one)
GT4C Lusso (fixed the FF design)
SF90 XX (Makes the SF 90 design look properly wild)
812 Superfast Competizione (This just works, the extra aggression completes the over-styling of the base 812))
Portofino / M (Fixed everything with the California)

    Miss List

458 Speciale (Front end is functional but the standard 458 front is just beautiful)
    California (Everyone agrees here)
    FF (The front end...Yikes)
488 (Always looked too unfished and prototype like to me)
488 Pista (Improved the looks but the not as much as the F8 did and the 458 still looks far better)
812 Superfast (Did not look as elegant as the F12, especially the front lights like with the 488)
Roma (It's unique, but not a very "Ferrari" looking Ferrari)
SF90 (Not saying it's a bad design...but for Ferrari's legacy it's not their best work IMHO and still borrows a lot from the 458)
296 ( Another modern-retro throwback that harkens to another design that doesn't translate well into the modern era I feel)
    12Cilindri (see this thread LOL)
Purasangue (It's NOT an SUV guys...just remember that LOL)

According to Aston, It's taking aim at the 12 Cilindri... Vanquish starts at US $424k base before options, so not far off the 12 Cilindri base.

It looks like a slightly updated version of every other Aston. The new Aston front (also on the Vantage/DB12) isn't super elegant, and I don't think will age well. Same with the interior - a few too many angles. Lots of S650 Mustang vibes in the proportion and shape. It's not a particularly daring or inventive design, but overall it turned out well enough. I like the rear, especially the ducktail.

450lbs heavier than the 12Ci - not great (3900lbs+ dry weight!). Turbos, lower redline, less responsive chassis. It's a decent effort, but hard to justify spending $500k+ on one after options (especially when lightly used CPO DBS SLs are going for $180-200k these days)

Definitely not a daring design, I agree, but does it really need to be? The front engine v12 Ferrari line has generally been more subtle and traditional. I can't picture the 12c aging very well.

I'm guessing I'll see one in person in a couple weeks. I really want to like it, since nothing is cooler to me than an NA Ferrari V12, but for the life of me, it still hasn't grown on me. I still can only appreciate the back of it.

This is how the proportions of the modern front engine Ferrari models look like. A shoe looking, rear less bs.
F12,Roma,812, 12cilindri... Everything wend wrong after the 599.

And now look at the new Aston proportions. Thats the way Ferrari should have done it.

One is very conventional design, a necessary safe choice. The other by comparison is like a spaceship has landed.
It was day355 who first introduced the 'spaceship' theme when the development of the SF90 was being discussed. The new model carries on that same spaceship theme today.

Ground control seems very happy with the result...

Aren't they all, casually, concentrated at the rear back where the massive volume in the shape of Renault Fuego is located?

I actually think the rear of the 12C looks pretty good from this very particular angle. (I think only from this angle. And still wish the flaps were red.)

I'm not a fan of the back of the Vanquish. I think the rest of the car is gorgeous (personally I would prefer a smaller grill, but that's nitpicking). That floating black section looks bizarre. I guess I'm just not a fan of black graphics on cars...

Unlike Ferrari, however, it seems AM will let you paint it. I still don't love it, but it looks much better painted.

Initially, sure, but long term, don't count on it!
Reference: In USA there were plenty of unfilled 812SF allocations after it was replaced as the flagship by the SF90.
And the cilindri is not the flagship, it is just an upsized Roma in every dimension.
