And the price changed between the time you ordered and the time you took delivery? Pre or post covid? Because everyone I have ordered since 2020 has been subject to this provision. Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, BMW.

I guess others have had different experiences on this, but this has happened to me with every purchase (meaning part of the deal not that it happened) post covid. It happens with watches, my wife’s handbags, and cars. Porsche is the worst because they just spring an ADM on you at the last minute instead of change msrp. Happened when I was about to order the hybrid urus (backed out). Happened on my Cayenne Turbo GT and my wife’s AMG (which again you weren’t going to get at msrp because of dealer ADMs). Again post covid. Comparing pre and post covid dealer practices is a little misleading think because crazy msrp changes were less common as inflation and supply was much more stable.

    Thanks mate,

My solicitor friend agrees with your opinion as did I and got the same price from them today as on the original order form by referring to the. I also saw the anomaly in same clause as my solicitor friend. This car was a huge financial stretch for me at my level and this potential hit would have made a a car I had specced out of my reach and rather sad, once I did my maths and got into the same headspace necessary to avoid getting screwed. Deeply grateful that the outcome was favourable to my circumstances.

    “Hi Junaid,

I am pleased to hear this “dispute” was resolved.

My view in any event is that under clause 9(d) you would have had a strong argument against any price increase due to the lack of notice being served upon you.”

Nope. When I sign the order and it goes hard it’s fixed. Not from the time of allocation. From the time of locking it in.

Not what I was getting at. If the MSRP doesn't change between when the order is locked and the time of delivery then none of this matters right? There is no higher price to pay at delivery. This only matters when the MSRP goes up during that interim period, which arguably is more relevant for a Ferrari as it often takes much longer and therefore greater chance of MSRP change during that period.

You 100% own them. It's all how you play it from here. Maybe call their bluff, tell them they can keep it unless they knock off a bit more from where it originally was just to make up for the BS they've tried to pull.

The base price from my date of order to delivery (almost three years) increased by 10%. Live with it.

They realised their error and reversed the 8%+ price increase. Of course I was fortunate in that the allocation was confirmed late 2023 and they failed to inform me of the price increase, so they agreed to charge order price. Happy days [emoji4]

I agree but they were defo in the wrong. Legally they had to inform me when the price went up and because they neglected to, fortunately for me, they had to apply the original price. Their legal position according to myself, others on this thread and also my solicitor friend would have been challenging to defend. Fortunately we have arguably one of the best legal systems in the world in The UK, sadly that’s about all we have left, imho. But I am so glad things went my way because it this car was to be my 60th birthday present from me to me with [emoji173]️[emoji23]. Took many years to realise a childhood dream of owning a Ferrari. It all began with a to program called The Persuaders where Tony Curtis drove a Dino, if memory serves me correctly and it was love at first sight. And my car is also a V6 - fate I guess.

Originally I specced it in Dino Red (which looks amazing) but finally opted for Verde Mineral with Sabbia. Green is a colour very dear to my heart because it’s the colour of my wife’s eyes [emoji173]️. She’s put up with me and given me three beautiful children - very very Blessed and Privileged is how I feel. Picture of the car (taken at the factory end of July by Ferrarii) - I was there at the factory that day but I guess the car had already passed the production line. Enjoyed Corso Pilota with my son very very much. The most expensive weekend of my life so far but so worth it. Can’t take it with you so might as well enjoy it while you can.

I negotiated a 12% discount off msrp in Feb this year for my 296 gtb. I almost went for one of the £225k ones which were £325k list, < a year old and had 200 miles, but we managed to make the deal.

Never thought a discount was possible tbh. My guess is they are ok not making much profit up front, filling an empty allocation but getting the relationship. My car arrives end this month.

I has that exact and disappointing experience, paint went up $20,000 post config and order. I was never warned which as a shame, as for that amount, I surely would have selected another color.

Brand new? This is not allowed in the us for the dealer to discount off the msrp.

I’ve posted this elsewhere here, but the kicker was that I changed my order from Celeste to Monaco (my third choice) at the very last minute because they told me Celeste went from $12k to $32k. Azzurro California was second and also over $32k.

Ok Monaco is only $16k and change. Then 9 mos later, Monaco was even more at $37k! Can’t win.

Yes brand new. It’s in UK but more of the market condition here. Anyone paying full price with a well spec car will lose £100k over the first weekend driving it.

I think gentlemen agreements will be off if they can’t fill allocations like in the UK. Or just do it under the table.

It seems the UK market is currently the worst in the world for sellers, for whatever reason. Continental Europe is still resisting, although the second hand market begins to be under pressure.
Apart from the general economy situation, Ferrari's policy of selling ever more cars at ever higher prices may reach its limits.
