    107240 was born Rosso Barchetta.
It is the last of the six F50's painted Rosso Barchetta.
But it is not the last F50 built.
More than 349 F50's were built.
107240 went new to a factory board member.

Thanks for clarifying that, yeah that’s why I asked if it was the last numbered car, I realise there is quite a few more, 12 pre and 20 post if I remember correctly.

Speaking of post production is it correct that cars 301 and 302 are 107700 and 107705, as they are higher than car 349 at 107240, and if this is true is there a reason they are higher vins. ?

Apologies, I’ve just checked my other list and they are 107000 and 107005 and must of been entered incorrectly, so therefore correct in sequence.

I friend of mine was invited to an F50 tour during the date you mentioned, but clearly not supported by factory. I think we'll have to choose...

To both continue the earlier post #4488 about beautiful car and the comment of the previous post on the car being a time capsule in authenticity and quality, let’s look at mechanical components with an ever increasing granularity to see whether it’s only shine or the ‘time capsule’ goes down to the last granular level of detail.

Then let’s do the same with weave and then accessories.

On the mechanical components front, you go from the overview of the engine bay down to smaller parts and details.

Now a couple of weave pictures: from large to smaller area.

Let’s look at the granularity of quality (locked in a time capsule) in something ‘mundane’ like accessories. ‘Mudane little things’ can separate an elegant person from another (it’s not the price of their watch but the small detail of the shoe laces - did they pay attention to that ‘mundane part’?) Same with F50s - you learn a lot about how warm and attentive an owner is to his car and how much he cherishes her.

In the following picture, the care and details visits the mundane level. But still with the same ruthless quality standards. Let us ensure that the tonneau does not scratch the inside of the flight case (there is an original protective cap covering every protruding screw). Also let us ensure that the inside lining of the flight case is in excellent condition. Ask F50 owners if they check that prior to purchase…

In the garment picture below look at the original Schedoni factory cellotape in place when the luggage left some 30 years ago.

Quality and preservation were surely in the time capsule on this soft hood which retains the original protective wrapping on the rear plastic window.

This is probably the oldest digital F50 video in existence. It comes from the 1996 Ferrari website, and only my VLC media player can play it with video and audio. I was able to upload it to YouTube though. Original file (.mov) was created on 5-10-1995 23:42. Original video: 160x120 pixels, 14.99 fps. Original audio: 86 kbps, mono, sample speed 11.025 kHZ.

I noticed today the F50 has a digital gear indicator in the dash. Does anyone know if this was a first for a Ferrari, or even for a road car?
