Is the new Vanquish a real competitor, or alternative, to the 12C?

I would dare say it's more in line with the Bentley Continental GT than with the 12C.

I´d say they´re quite similar, even similar horsepower. And I suppose that it´s conventional looks will please the 12 Cilindri detractors.

ZF 8 speed. Aston Martin made earlier statements previously about DCTs being heavier and more complex with little to no return over the new ZF gearboxes.

It’s 100% a direct competitor to the 12C. They both have some bold styling cues that are polarizing. I personally think they both look great. Performance is close enough too.

Hater’s Ferrari have big problems with sincere judgment. Wait the test drive and after that we are going to have a good laugh

I haven’t driven the new Vanquish but have driven a few of the current V12 models such as the outgoing DBS for example and while I thought it was a good GT car, the turbo lag was noticeable and I felt the gearbox was a weak point on downshifts etc. it definitely felt heavy and a bit uncontrolled when pushed hard through the mountain roads here. They’re very comfortable cars and look beautiful but for some reason they lose value rather quickly potentially making them a bargain second hand purchase. I think the new Vantage will be the better car for them vs the Vanquish.

Yes, we have to be objective, the 12 C is a pure sport 812 Competizione with a different design and other improvements. Nothing to do with the pure GT that is the Aston, even if I like it quite

Good point on value. The 12C could potentially rise in the aftermarket but this Vanquish will almost certainly lose 40% of its value in two years making it a secondary market steal.

F12 and 812 looking like better and better values in this segment every day...

Or a manual previous Gen DBS for that matter.

I can't wait to buy the Vanquish a few months after release for 50% off.

The 12c will hold it's value and at the very least take a year before you see the prices slide slightly below msrp on the used market.

We will see if limiting the Vanquish to 1000 units worldwide per year helps any at all. I doubt it though

I like the Vanquish in the coupe and the 12c in the Spider.

That vanquish sucks, 12 cilindri is way better. The best and most collectible Aston is the 2009 db9.2 manual. Even better than the bond cars.

Wonder which car will have a steeper depreciation curve.

    This Vanquish, or the MC20.

Hmmmn…good question. I would say MC20, but I dunno. However, the Vanquish is priced high enough that the ultimate depreciation may well approach the MC20.
