Vasseur was very cautious with his words after the race, insinuating the main culprit was Friday afternoon when they couldn’t have properly tested hard tyre with Charles ( suspension problem).

I do not understand why people are down on LeClerc, He still came in second, and did not do something stupid when his tires were trashed. Ultimately, as much as we credit the drivers, it is a team sport, pit crews, strategy , etc..

 

He admits not defending enough against Oscar's pass. End - OF- Story. You want to win. You defend and win. He did not. Great drive to 2nd.....not a good headline.

Max Verstappen is at risk of losing further points to Formula 1 title rival Lando Norris in the aftermath of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, as he is subject to a post-race investigation.

Verstappen finished the 51-lap race in fifth, being overtaken by Norris late on and then pitting for fresh tyres, which he never got to make use of as the race went under virtual safety car conditions following the Sergio Perez/Carlos Sainz crash and remained that way beyond the finish.

Verstappen - along with Nico Hulkenberg, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon - was placed under investigation for an alleged virtual safety car infringement a few minutes after the conclusion of the race.

In Verstappen's case it relates to a post-race overtakes while still under virtual safety car conditions.

"Max is overtaking everyone, it's still a VSC, right?" Norris reported to his McLaren team at the time. "I don't know if it matters or not but... still a VSC."

**Norris' McLaren team has in the meantime been summoned to the stewards for an alleged breach relating to "team personnel and equipment in pitlane during the race" but this is highly unlikely to impact the race classification.

I believe the hard left was the result of their tires touching. On the Sainz in-car, you see Carlos steer left onto the track just after the corner. This puts him side-by-side with Sergio. Once Carlos straightened his steering, you do not see him steer left at all. In fact, after holding straight for a bit, his first steering input is to the right immediately after the contact threw his back end right.

 

Carlos tried to overtake leclerc so as to
Prove Ferrari wrong, he found the car couldn’t fit and decided to play the teammate card by trying to be an obstacle to Perez in an unpredictable trajectory resulting in ruining his own race as well as Ferraris needed points, all of that showing why only Williams wants him.
