The stewards have access to steering, throttle, and braking data traces for every lap. They determined it was a racing incident.

That mistake by sainz costed us badly in the championship, we have a good chance to overtake Red Bull but had to catch Maclaren.

There is no mistake. Sainz follows Leclerc, on the same trajectory as the other laps. He cannot see Perez, who is not at all next to him, but on the other hand Perez clearly sees that he does not have the space to pass Sainz on the left.

Define "not at all next to him?" i.e. How did Sainz clip his right rear tire on Perez's right front tire.

Or do you actually mean that "Sainz cannot see Perez whom is not alongside side of Sainz meaning wheel-to-wheel.

I watched it several times.... There weren't any erratic jukes made by either, but surely Perez has the better view and could/should have moved over given Carlos was ahead. I don't know, to me crashing the straight is utterly ridiculous. It's sort of like my morning drive and people crash on the Sunshine Skyway bridge. I mean HOW? You're going in a straight line ... the only direction you can go... completely unimpeded. That wreck between them was ridiculous. Clearly Carlos has zero idea what even happened. Sure it's a racing incident... but it was still caused by someone and I think that was Perez. I think at the end of the year while McLaren is celebrating their Constructor's championship, everyone is gong to be quite pissed at RB looking back how Checo single handedly cost them the title.

Strangely Perez is always a victim when trying to overtake another car in a close wheel to wheel situation, Monaco this year is another good example I guess..
Truth is he will never let enough space to deal with this kind of situation.
He should have some serious information about Red Bull illegals tricks to retain his seat for next year with a very bad year in 2024( and I don’t even talk about the costly damages occurred by his numerous high speed crashes)

Ferrari quickest 4 tenths/lap on medium tyres compared with Mclaren and 2 tenths/lap on hard tyres compared with McLaren again, with Charles blocked behind Piastri for 30 laps..
As I said before not winning this race was a professional mistake for Ferrari.
First time I see Vasseur taking time and choosing carefully his words before answering the French television right after the race..

So let me get this straight.

If you're in your passenger car and your driving straight onto your lane and the guy "next" to you whom is in front of you but his rear tire is alongside your front tire and he gradually moves into your lane....unless you brake to avoid the collision.....the guy moving into your lane hits you EVEN THOUGH you're driving straight on your lane IT'S YOUR FAULT because you didn't brake to avoid the other guy moving into your lane.

    Do I have that right?

But that wasn’t the scenario. Perez didn’t need to brake. All he needed to do was use some of the space to his left. It’s not like he was squeezed between the wall on his left and Sainz on his right.

So then you move over into another lane because the other guy is "invading" your space that you had in your lane?

Sainz’s issue was caused by his overly aggressively attempt to jump LEC on the turn. He then put his car too far right and left the opening for Perez. IMO if he just stayed behind LEC this would have not allowed Perez to get alongside at that point. Sainz would have probably easily passed LEC soon anyway.

Easy for me to say from my couch but that’s how saw it.

    1) Sainz ran wide going into T2 and Perez "went for the gap" and held his line coming out of T2 and kept his steering wheel straight(as depicted by the videos of his car going over the broken white lines on the track AND his on-board showing his steering wheel remaining straight).

    2) Sainz's car is now over the solid white line and gradually merges into the track by going right(gradually) not knowing that Checo already has that lane AND Sainz still has plenty of room had he stayed with his car over the white solid line.

I understand the stewards gave this incident a racing incident but Checo has a much right to be where he was at since he made no errors YET Sainz is the one that over-shot T2 and Sainz ran into Perez to rejoin the track and get behind Leclerc's slipstream.

Agree with this and even the announcer thought the same. Perez had a better view of the car in front of him and had room to give.

Also agree with this. He should have slotted in behind leclerc to defend instead of going for an unlikely pass around leclerc.
