Once I changed over from OEM Pirelli to Michelin, the car felt close to neutral. Of course, when the Michelins were put on, a new alignment was done and that might have helped. The new tires gave more speed into corners and less snap oversteer from throttle lift in turns. A much bigger usable performance envelope. Less of a “driving on the front axle feeling.”

On the TdF, I use MPS4S instead of Cup2 or 2R. This way, the tires get up to temperature more quickly than Cup 2 or 2R. For me this is important as I want to minimize boring warm up miles on the car.

I’m assuming that an official Top Secret rolling shoot is occurring about now with the fully exposed , debut ready car …. Needs to be if the private viewings are in about 24 days … or so !!!!
The hills above Maranello are too obvious for spotters - does anyone know where the last few limited edition cars were filmed …?
Hope there’s a special 80th anniversary colour (color)…. A Giallo based color would be nice …… can you have giallo CF???

True, but then again all limited edition super/hyper-cars are sold out.

I had a go in a Huyara, when a good mate of mine who is a respected car journalist, tested it. It is a super/hyper-car, so it was amazing obviously, but the asking price doesn't correspond to the performance, IMHO. Why wouldn't one get a Koenigsegg for that kind of money? The Swedes even build their own engines...

Amazing machine and sound transmission wasn’t great went first came out but I’m sure they have tweaked software by now… I kick myself for not picking one when introduced at 1.1 then went to 1.3 and took off from there

I happen to be one of those that put a higher value on clever design, light weight, and simplicity in operating a vehicle over electronic nannies with more power.
For that reason the GMA is not overpriced.

Resolution has increased significantly over the years, expect to be in suspense till debut!

Hearing great things about the car, allocated customers will have to resist the demand of delusional fomo customers :D

"Performance" is much more nuanced and more complex than a few headline figures perpetuated by manufacturers.

There are numerous reasons why one would or wouldn't get a specific car, and like with most things in life, some of the more compelling are much clearer in hindsight, especially after one has bought, owned, and lived with such cars for a meaningful period.

Regarding Koenigsegg, well, consider their most extreme, most mega, <insert all of the rehashed hyperbole here> current car: the Jesko Attack, with which I'm quite familiar. In the United States, a reasonable (without things like Koenigsegg Naked Carbon) specification would be US $3.6M before taxes.

Koenigsegg recently set a production-car lap record of 1:24.86 at Laguna Seca. It's a fine lap time, but when you consider all the raw mega-ness and the insane power/power-to-weight, it's actually quite meh.

A non-mega McLaren Senna costing merely a million dollars did 1:27.62 (Randy Pobst), but that was in 2019: the track, now with new asphalt, is at least 2 seconds quicker, and even more so for certain scenarios. Even back then, local track-junkies did better times than Pobst soon afterwards. So the marginal improvement (if at all) in demonstrated performance is actually a letdown for a car that costs so much and is a sum total of such superlative technological tours de force.

Driving Agera R/RSs and 765LTs at Silverstone back-to-back was quite illuminating too.

I realize that introducing slicks in to the mix is "cheating", but I really must to put things in perspective.

A 10-year old LaFerrari on slicks (well, the FXX-K, but it really is not much more than a LaFerrari on slicks), is actually quicker today at Laguna Seca than the Jesko Attack.

The most basic Ferrari race car—the 296 Challenge—is an adaptation of the road car for Ferrari's single-make series. It has a 690 horsepower V6 without the hybrid. Compared to the Jesko Attack, it's puny in terms of power output, aero appendages, wingspan, overall presence, and so on. On slick tires, the 296 Challenge is over 4 seconds quicker than the Jesko Attack.

Regarding Pagani, the older Zondas are cool in some of the same ways as an F50 is cool: it's not about performance but a unique point-in-time machine that won't ever be recreated. The original Huayra coupes are the "worst" in that relatively speaking, they are the heaviest, least powerful, and with the clunkiest electronics and software. The Huayra Roadster was a dramatic improvement, and each sub-model/variant has monotically improved since. As for performance, their current most-extreme variants weigh a little over 3,000 lbs (actual measured weight), with engines pushing close to 900 horsepower and 1,100 Nm of torque in an excellently balanced chassis. While driving something like that, the last thing on the mind would be "too little performance".

First of all, I believe we can all agree that different people have different tastes. What is overpriced for, me might not be for you, and vice-versa. Although I admire Murray for his single minded pursuit of his ideal car, I don't share the same ideal, especially at this price-point. At the end of the day, if there are people willing to buy his cars, they are priced according to the demand; so kudos to his business acumen. For me they are still overpriced in relation to their performance, but who cares about what I think, and rightly so...

Dear sir, thank you for your thorough and eloquent reply. It was a real pleasure reading your enlightening insight regarding such rarefied machines. I totally get the notion that neither Paganis, nor GMAs chase numbers, but it matters, at least to some clients. It has been a pleasure; cheers!

Congratulations on the GTO. A beautiful acquisition, in a classic configuration, and the Nero Lucido (Nero DS?) roof is very unique.
IMO, of the triad, the GTO is the one that produces the most striking sound.
