    I purchased a full set (16) of replacement inner wishbone bushes from a reputable Ferrari parts dealer. The old (original, made in Italy...) bushes have worn out rubbers. However the new bushes have what I consider excessive clearance between the inner sleeve and the mounting bolt. If I install the bolt and hold the head tight, then the shaft as it pokes out the other end of the bush can be moved back and forth by 0.014 inches (0.35 mm). The old original bush is very snug on the bolt, no more than 0.001 inch of wobble (0.025 mm), measured by a dial gauge. The parts dealer says they have sold many sets of bushes, including to people who do classic racing. But I am not very happy about this. I am not in a position to return the bushes. So am I worrying about nothing?

    The clamping force of the suspension fork is what holds them in place, not the diameter of the bolt.
    That being said they sound like some generic bushing purchased for their sizes listed in a catalog.
    I have heard the exact same story from many suppliers over the years "we have sold 300 and no one ever complained". Well that just tells you how selective the average consumer is. 99% care about price above all else. That is the central and often only theme when conversations around here are about parts suppliers.

    If this really is a reputable parts dealer they will take them back. Then what I would do is find a "Quality" parts dealer and get the correct parts.
    There is a whole lot more to fabricating a bushing for a particular application than the size of the hole in the middle.

    It sounds like the bushing is a 1/2 ID when it should be a 12mm ID.

    Thanks for the replies! I have ordered 8 of what I hope are better-quality parts from a different supplier, arriving next week.
