In Southern California. Trying to get my 81 308 GTSI smoged and it did not pass the first time. Anyone know whare I can get the car done. May have to get it detuned to get it to pass.

I would post your question in the Southern California thread. You're too far away from San Diego for my recommendations, but you might find someone in your area who can help: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/forums/california-southern.12/.

Does the car not pass or is the car not smog legal and you think you can get around that?

fatbilly asks a great question for the OP.

If missing smog equipment, well, ya, that may make the term impossible valid.
If stock, but "out of tune" local mechanics may be of assistance.
If stock and still won't pass in Calif. there is the next step above the local smog certification shops of the area Smog Referee.
I'd also ask, what happened at the last Calif. registration smog test 2 years ago (what changed)?

    Good luck.

If it passed 2 years ago Im hopeful for you that its not a major issue . Im for sure interested in how you resolve the problem. This is a great thread in the hopes that other 3x8 owners in California can find helpful.

Car passed 2 years ago. Its recently tuned but running little rich. Had it tested, but just barely did not pass. I want someone who can tune correctly to pass and get the smog done at the same time. In hind site should have approach this in the first place. All smog equipment in tact. Thanks
