    Hi all

just sent 458 to official dealer. Car not been driven for 9 months.

the rear view mirror and housing has fallen off the windscreen. Ferrari say needs a new windscreen at £3180 and no repair possible.

    Car has done ‘5600 miles.
is there a U.K. recall for this fault?

    Thanks in advance forum.

Your dealer is either not knowledgeable or lying. It can absolutely be repaired or reattached. If you post some pictures we can provide more input to your specific issue.

    Thanks

they have the car but it’s the black housing that the mirror is attached to has come away from the windscreen. It’s hanging by some wires.

I had the same issue with my 458. The black housing adheres to a clip that is glued to the windshield. It can absolutely be re-glued and I had mine done at the dealership.

Thankyou, I’ve sent the car to an independent dealer who can fix it.

Same here! One morning went to get into my 458 and mirror was hanging. Was going to attempt to fix myself, but instead took it to my dealer who attempted to fix ,but the glue failed in a couple of days. They then called a glass company who used a special glue and now approx.2 yrs later remains well attached. Living in high humidity & heat it is fairly common. Certainly not a calamity & an easy repair if proper glue is used by someone that knows what they are doing!
