Just finished a very extended maintenance service including among many things cambelt. and oil seals replacement. In spite of my careful job I have oil dripping from right bank just under oil seal carrier and to left bank from the upper cover. Photos taken using "dark light" so oil appeared green. Very-Very frustrating... I used Loctite 510 as a special pressure and high temperature oil resistant sealer but in vain! All seals and gaskets are new. Any suggestion or comment? I think to leave it as it is, really I can't even imagine to get out engine again or even drop fuel tank to redo the whole job!!!

A few things. Motor does not need to come out to do that. We did tons of them under warranty and the factory early on quit paying for R&R engine.

There are 3 factory modifications to help prevent those leaks. 2 of them do require R&R engine.

Locktite 510 was a poor choice for that job. It does not really flex and that job requires flexibility. Hondabond or your favorite color of Permatex Ultra silicone will actually give you a chance.

When you take get the valve covers off and the O rings out you will probably see notches in the O rings from the sharp corners of the valve cover.

I just counted the other day. I am not far from having done this for 50 years. When I was young and dumb I believed with careful smart work any car can be assembled so they don'y leak. That was incredibly naive. The cam seal housing carrier of the Ferrari 4 valve engines is an example of one of the dumbest pieces of engineering in the automotive world. Its as though it was designed to leak. My 328 is almost totally dry there after 14 or so years. That is incredible and not to be considered an expected outcome. .

Are all 4 notches on the cam seal carriers lined up with the cast in lines on the valve covers?

What the 3 factory options? Is there any post with more details? Beyond that, I understand that taking out the upper covers I can try sealing the leak without taking out cam pulleys etc, is my understanding correct?

Try sealing the leak???? No, you can seal the leak. Done it a hundred times.

There are a thousand posts with more details.

Try running it for a few hundred miles and see if the leak stops, after my recent major. I had a few drips, after 100 miles or so I have none!
There is also a mod that can be done on the cam seals, I know it was done on my 3.2 because we were able to check by the serial number to see if it'd been done. Not sure what it entails, and I think you need a special jig to do it.
Not sure if it is necessary on a 3.4, Rifledriver would probably know the answer to this question.
