So with what you're showing us and some of the stuff the rest of us have said, the bloke was pretty much culpable of this event BUT it appears the prosecution did not exploit as well as they could have done.

Apparently there could be another avenue open for action :

Won't happen. There are too many ifs and buts to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. For every expert the prosecution produces the defence will throw up 10 with an alternate view. DDP's view would be it would be very difficult to get a jury over the line, probably difficult to get it to the jury.

I have type 2 bipolar disorder, ADHD with almost 100 points on tests and borderline disorder as a consequence.
Overall doing well, I've been in psychiatry for a few years now and have gone through a large number of treatment/maintenance regimen changes.
I'm on a lot of medications now that allow me to feel pretty good and be productive on average, but I'm still concerned about the polarity reversal happening literally overnight with no external circumstances.
Yesterday you had a lot of strength, ideas and desires, and today you have no strength to get out of bed and nothing helps but to wait.
If the phases of depression last for several weeks, although with small improvements, while the phases of hypomania are literally a few days and they are not destructive in my case. A lot of good things in my life were started during hypomania. :)
What confuses me is that even with a good treatment, the prospects of planning some things in terms of a month is a very unstable thing, and this greatly limits life in general.
Even with a good plan and goals, it may not be possible to strictly follow it at the right time and in any case out of 3 months +- 4 weeks will pass without energy, with an empty head and bad condition.
The inability to guess when the phase change will take place is very disconcerting, there is always some anxiety when thinking of important things to do.
The pills have made the whole situation much easier, but there is a downside in another way:
    Инесса, [20.09.2024 18:10]
A common situation with bipolarity is a lot of resistance to medication and a short duration of medication.
In fact, every 5-6 times it is necessary to change the treatment regimen and sometimes quite strongly, because the medications stop working properly.
The change itself is not so scary, although for a couple of weeks the feeling may not be very good.
The scary thing is that those pills that stopped working - in 90% of cases they don't work at all.
There aren't that many medications in the world really, much less modern ones.
What scares me is that I have reached the limit of shifts and in fact in case of replacement of drugs I am left with literally a couple of options, and accordingly a few options of their combinations. The regimen itself does not guarantee that the pills will work. The last change in treatment has had no effect on me, and now I have my doctor again on Tuesday and I know what she will suggest I replace it with and for what too.
That's what scares me, that in a year of showing interest I've had a pretty good idea of how these mechanisms work on me.
It is very scary when the psychiatrist agrees with your suggestions, because you realize that you are approaching the boundaries known to the doctor and, accordingly, the boundaries of available drugs.
Let me clarify that I have had a fair number of different psychiatrists from different countries, both with PhDs in my spectrum of disorders and in general broadly.
I'm in a slump now, just two days ago I was feeling great and now my max is a shower and a walk with the dog. Very tired

So is Wally Lewis for driving while being an epileptic who refused to admit it.

Leonie is a grand Mal the same as Lewis but she wasn't allowed to drive without going 2 years without a fit and to her credit when I asked her to go another 2 years she agreed as she had been a bad epileptic and wanted to be sure.

Lewis being the irresponsible pig he is ignored the epilepsy and smashed many rental cars, just ask AVIS

I stupidly helped a type 1 diabetic buy a car and also took her scuba diving and freaked when she told me she was type 1

I don't know why people risk theirs and other people's lives

Lol. I’ve lost my licence a couple of times, but both when I was under 25 years old and riding a motorbike.
Since I sold the bikes have never had serious problems while driving cars.

That said, and while I’m absolutely no fan of driving like a dickhead on public roads, there is an element of luck involved.

I've been driving since 1997 and haven't come close to losing my license. I am a good boy.

My Brother has lost his license a few times over the years and he started driving in 1995.

A good mate lost his license "indefinitely" which means every 12 months he had to front up to court and try and convince the judge why he should have license back.

He didn't have a license or car for 5 years in the end. This was back in 1999 to 2004, and he learned his lesson as he drives around slowly these days and hasn't lost a point since.
