Totally agree. Steve has never been "diplomatic" but he has had a fair amount of abuse. His absence on here is our loss.

Shame that Steve let himself get roped into that Abbot and Castello routine.

100% correct. I have zero skin in this game. Initially I wanted the fairytale to be true, but then Steve's research proved the tooth fairy was absolutely fake, for which he received lots of abuse. Some people constantly said his research was fake. We need further proof etc. Over and over and over again. They were the trolls. Steve was the victim. Sure he should have been smarter and just ignored them, but that's easy for me to say. This subject is his life's passion, and he should be shown some respect, not relentlessly ridiculed and trolled.

    Hello Francis,

Anyhow, I got bored doing this, but after 104 pages, 2600 replies, it seems no one has questioned Glickenhaus 'in extremis',

so where is 'miurasv', first doubting post? That might help me understand if I am part of the 95,5% un-conoscenti, that mostly post drivel.
    Clearly my words, not yours.

Potentially the % 's you mention about generalized 'filler posts' amount to a tad more than the 500.

    Thank you for the help.

    Regards, Alberto

That's not a replica, that's the one and only original 0846, built by burago from remaining parts they obtained from a workshop that got them directly from the Ferrari factory.

The problem is TTR is a troll. FerrariChat has rules against trolls, but for some reason, the moderators keep letting him back in. He then proceeds to start with the same crap over and over again. I dare anyone to find an objective comment by TTR in this thread. He gets his kicks by peeing in other people's coffee.

    And he got Steve's goat.
Timo also has worthwhile comments to contribute but he is argumentative when there is no need to argue--he's angry about something or just plain angry?

I still would like someone to enlighten me when the shootin' match started between them,
    and the 1st blow.

As I mentioned sometime before, not going to read this insanely long thread, just to find out
about 0846, as not of my interest.
Hopefully, someone will just say: here

Or, just a thread titled 'miurasv vs. TTR', with good stuff interspersed for PITA's as I. It would truly be an ordeal, I know...

    Thank you.

I you don't care, why would you think other people care enough to look it up for you? Sancho Panza, waiting for Don Quichote to be let back into the thread ?

I did not say I did not care. I said, not of my interest. Is it possible that there are people that know more than I (clearly),
and possibly you, that might do me the favour. Or are they just as tendentious as you, that reply a la miurasv?
You know, there are kind people out there, that potentially may be kinder than you.

"“Sábete, Sancho, que no es un hombre más que otro si no hace más que otro.”

I am not Sancho Panza, and El Quijote is not of my interest either, albeit I have read it all, as required part of education. Have you?

The essential issue of this thread is the sale of a Piper P-replica, of which the buyer claims that the car is no replica but the '67 Daytona winning works Ferrari #0846, which is why he welded this number on the chassis and had the car registered in NY as Ferrari P 3/4 #0846. After Ferrari itself and Forghieri confirmed that neither the car, the chassis nor the number exist anymore and miurasv showed with a legendary documentation that the car has no remains of the late 0846 either, some disappointed claqueurs got heavily traumatised and reacted - sauf arguments - with constant denials, personal attacks and abusiveness against miurasv. No wonder that he sometimes got impulsive and was no diplomat. Moreover, many posters lacked any knowledge or real interest in the subject, which recently led - after 20 years of discussion - to the question of whether the car got Classiche certified. Given the complexity of the subject and the length of the thread, you can't constantly repeat thousands of posts over and over again, as some posters just like to jump in with all sorts of already answered issues and repetitions or wild references to the Pope, Don Quijote, the Vatican etc. This is pure trolling by thread activists who just want to pose and simply can't contribute anything to this fascinating part of Ferrari history. Should 'The Law' not rather intervene here and apply the rules to make Fchat less a stage for posers and endless repetition, but more of a forum with real expertise to save and preserve important Ferrari history? Shouldn’t rather Fchat focus on that and not on all the pointless talk? But for that, we need miurasv back, who is – as we know – “the greatest P4 expert in existence” according to Mauro Forghieri and many others. Because one thing is certain: here, without miurasv’s work and research, we would still be celebrating faked Ferrari history and a ridiculous fairytale. And that deserves respect and the lifting of the ban, please!

I say this not to draw criticism of the mods or Rob lay...

    Just as a thought exercise...

I wonder if TTR was trolling Marcel Massini if the same kind of banishment would have taken place.

Not to say fchat plays favorites... However I do think the perspective or starting place would be/could be different.

I don't think the site would want to chase Massini away.

However... On a completely different wave length...

I think we should have a pot we can chip in as a donation to unban someone. Like if we get to 100-500 bucks we can unban someone with the collective donations. F chat can pick the charity. Lol.

Most people on here are professionals or experts in their field. If your body of work was attacked and mocked... You might react similarly. Just food for thought

I have TTR on ignore. I wish more here did the same. Every now and then, I take a peek at what this ******* has been up to. He is 100% predictable.

Here's what I'm going to do. I'm taking him off ignore. Every time he posts something idiotic, I will report him to the mods.

Those of you asking for leniency for miurasv are apparently not mindful of the site's rules for posting behavior. Note that posting behavior is distinct from knowledge or contributions. Whatever the validity or depth of miurasv's knowledge and contributions, his posting behavior is atrocious. He's been warned and sanctioned about this aspect of his presence here for at least 12 years, since we opened his log file (which has now grown to 13 pages).

This was what I wrote the last time he earned a ban arising from this thread.

This is how he responded to a moderator, about a year ago, who tried to steer him away from a dispute and miurasv ended up converting a warning into yet another ban:

And another comment from an incident on another thread earlier this year:

And a concluding comment from the incident on this thread earlier this year:

I won't even get into the "nasty-grams" that he sends to Rob most times he gets some sort of ban. All I will say is that they're even more antagonistic and vitriolic than what he posts in public.

Pretty much any other user who posts and escalates the way he does would be long gone. The fact he can still return demonstrates a history of moderation leniency. Rather than spending your energy and time mistakenly supporting him in protesting the consequences of his own behavior; maybe spend that energy and time to counsel him to tone it down, stay on topic, and avoid personal attacks, when he gets back.

Mr. Schlesser, you truly are a fountain of wisdom, and I applaud you for that. I honestly mean it.
Yet, you seem to miss a few points, as is in human nature.
To give you an idea, I am mostly a Dino man, my favourite cars, as there really is lots of passion, and as bonus, very little confrontation. Yet, also vastly enjoy the Vintage section.

Love the older models, and chanced upon 0864, where praise was bestowed by many F-chat favourite citizens for quite the time, whom after the fact of the 'fake',
quickly did an about face, due to miurasv, perseverance and due diligence. I gathered early on about J.G and his attitude, and not a favourite
person , after a few hilarious run ins with him. Frankly, a non essential type to my persona.

Got thoroughly bored, as in a free world, you have the God given right to drop a dreary book, that may be extremely appealing to others.
A fairly democratic fashion in life, whereas on F-chat, there are some relentless carriers of the torch, that take any opportunity to criticize others at the drop of the hat
to show, their fantastic knowledge, brilliancy, and "I know more than you", or whatever you may prefer. When I wrote praising Mr. miurasv, his riposte was a slap.
    Frightfully elegant, old man.

As a small i.e., I posted about the upcoming Bologna event, trying to meet with as many enthusiasts possible, later in October, in the F-chat locations of my preference,
and there came the reprimand that I was not posting in the correct locale.
I beg your Pardon, really? I posted in the wrong section? See, these are the uncalled meddlers for observations. Please note that it did not come from a Moderator.

Returning to your very concise (very) brief, thankfully precludes the dreary toll of reading through the lot, as what might be construed
to be the 'Cliff Notes' equivalent of your boiled down story of 11K+ posts in a few sentences.
Not even one break in a continuous run on statement. So now, I read your statement, and voila', finito, finished, we don't need any more.
I have been educated on 0864.

You have made your valuable point, single-handedly ladled out the Gospel, according to Schlesser.

Not that it matters much to me, as we are not friends or even acquaintances, yet I respect your opinion,
and clearly you are pointing a finger at me (which I find amusing).

"Classiche certified. Given the complexity of the subject and the length of the thread, you can't constantly repeat thousands of posts over and over again, as some posters just like to jump in with all sorts of already answered issues and repetitions or wild references to the Pope, Don Quijote, the Vatican etc."

If I like to carry on about the Divina Commedia, and you ask a specific question, as you are not interested in the least on said book, nor a scholar,
I am obliged to have the politeness to answer your query, be it intelligent or obtuse. No alternative. It is only good manners.

You pontificate, as we are it seems on a choice subject of yours, and I simply cannot fathom how ridiculously surreal this thread has become over a simple question
about Classiche Certification, but Mr. miurasv, found it most opportune to vent out his exasperation, and frustration at PITA such as I, when it all could have been avoided, with a simple reply. Tolerance, is a grand quality, yet not pertaining to a few subjects.

Intolerance, well, we all know who those are. Small, egocentrical, narcissistic, petty dictators et al.

Mr. miurasv, lost it, and the moderators took charge. They own the place, so they decide, just as you can toss me out of your house due to improper activities,
and here, we all are guests. You might have written to them about your issues and defence of the banned gentleman, yet you preferred to make it a public issue,
possibly garner kudos and appreciation. Personally I reply directly to you, as moderators may not be in the least interested in my small opinions.

You mostly tag along, never started a thread, so clearly a most involved person. As they say, 'only here for the beer'...
Yet now you grow exalted by the Pope et al. + defence attorney.

    Keep on truckin'...
