You may be right in the US , the size of the market has lead to an oversupply to the market resulting from backed up $$ from Covid .
The UK has economic issues causing some issues , other markets are fine

Exactly - too many available for sale at a price for those in the secondary market with the means and/or willing to buy into a hybrid which there are tons for sale and sitting. Those selling are usually unable to hold out forever to achieve a price which is never going to happen, so sooner or later they must swallow the pills being offered. From what i can see the Gtb is much worse effected than the Gts because of the sheer numbers available - obviously from buyers who were living on the edge to begin with and are now off that edge into a situation where they need to liquidate something or have it taken off them. The main problem is nobody wants to pay anywhere near the askings. Ive heard of near new gtbs selling 30 - 35 pc under list and were not easy sales even at those prices. Unfortunately I can’t see it improving untill there is a return to strong economic conditions.

My understanding is that if the car starts to build you lose your deposit but this could be a state by state thing.

Off topic, seems the F8 is a great buy at these prices. But the 296 is much quicker (I believe?) leaving the 488 and F8 kind of pointless unless you want v8 vs v6, but the v6 sounds so much better. Crazy times.

    Data via AutoTrader.

But AutoTrader doing bad job, mixing F8 and F8 Spider.
There are way less coupes than spiders.

Interesting that some heavy hitters on fchat are done with the dealer games of buying a car and hoping to get an allocation of a limited series. Market will be interesting in 2025.

Softer (more “normal”) suspension though and something about it just is not as fun to drive.

Fair point. I haven’t driven the F8, only owned pista and 488s briefly.

296 is a bargain performer at these soon to be lower prices , wrapped in an unusually good looking body, for Ferrari.

The 296 GTS is gorgeous, can’t say the same thing about the GTB.

Hybrid cars are consumable products, which are not intended to be restored in the future.
These cars will end up selling for a handful of peanuts, as long as someone wants to assume the huge costs following the aging of the hybrid system, the brakes, the electronics when everything will add up...

So true. Just the other day I saw a 918, P1 and a LaFerrari at the swap shop. They had problems giving them away for peanuts.

I see people throwing their old Prius in the scrap yard since they are just consumable products and can’t be restored. Now, in the other alternate world, of reality, a 14 year old Prius which needs to have the hybrid system replaced, cost $800 for a reconditioned battery or $2,680 for a brand new one fully installed.

As technology has advanced the price to replace the hybrid system has gotten cheaper and the replacement system is better than the original one. Same thing will apply to each and every hybrid system out there, especially since hybrids now account for 10% of the total market share and that number is increasing since most every car manufacturer is adding more hybrid models.

Mercedes now has 7 hybrid models, BMW has 5 hybrid models, Porsche now has a hybrid 911, along with 2 other hybrid models, Lamborghini now has 3 hybrid models.

Yep, I guess hybrids are trash and the new thought process is to buy one and toss it in the trash when your done.
