Why then do Ford Hybrids do 200,000 on one battery as taxis

Guess my sarcasm wasn’t clear?? Figured it was kind of obvious with the P1, 918 and LaFerraro being at the swap shop. Thought my post was pretty clear that I was arguing for Hybrid and that the technology isn’t going anywhere.

Um, isn’t that what I just said? Maybe you are replying to the wrong post?

Do you really think that Ferrari is going to sell off the price of parts because the technology is evolving and costs less, seriously... Plastic sensors are sold for 10 times the price and ... A replacement for the hybrid system would therefore be proposed at the cost price ... what a joke, it's not knowing Ferrari....
The carbon ceramic brakes cost nothing to manufacture and are bought 4 k from Brembo and resold for 20 k to the customer... Think about it...
Once the new cars are sold, they don't care anymore... just look at the difficulty of getting spare parts for some mass-market models....
For your information, the hybrid system on the 296 as a supplement costs 101 k€ !

You compare apples and oranges, a LAF has nothing to do in terms of clientele, production and desirability with a 296 and SF 90...

The car sales sites are an indictment the economy is on its back though. Perhaps you can show some more specific examples the used exotic market is in great shape?

So, again, based on your logic, all Ferrari, regardless of hybrid or not, are consumable and should sell for peanuts since the parts cost so much. Hysterical. Are you trying to argue hybrid or just Ferrari in general?? Your carbon ceramic statement proves that you are arguing in circles.

You are so far off base, that is comical, that once they sell a car, they don’t care anymore. Ferrari makes a tremendous amount of money on servicing old cars. In fact, there is more profit margin on the service side that on the new sale side. The supply chain issue is a whole annother issue and is affecting every car manufacturer, including American cars.

you are 100% wrong on the cost of a replacement 296 hybrid system and not sure where you get your information. You may want look back at some of my old threads as mine had a problem and portions had to be replaced. Firstly there is a seven year warranty so everything was covered and secondly, it is a mere fraction of what you think it is.

So let’s use a Prius. How about any other hybrid that’s been on the road for 10 years and is still being serviced and driven. In no stretch of the imagination are they consumable. There is no factual basis to you position and just a wild statement with zero support.

This thread has taken on a new level of hilarity. APAC used exotic market being drawn upon as a prime example of how well everyone there is doing and hybrid Ferrari’s deemed disposable, all destined for the scap pile. Some of you giys should have been comedians!

I think we are in a transitional period. Lots of turbulence. But it will find its footing, in the mean time, we all have to really do our homework.

I expect to take a loss on mine at one point - and probably everything else i own i imagine - but to say 296 is disposable and doomed for the crap pile is being unecessarily negative, ignoring all the positives in the car.

Agreed 100%. I’ll take a loss on every one of my cars and I am fine with that. I buy to enjoy and not to make money.

that is why I grouped the coupes and the spiders and focused on models so the mislabeling noise is eliminated.

that website only includes Ferrari authorized dealers so it is only a fraction of the available cars.

That’s what I noticed. Also, it is buggy and crashes a lot.

Ferrari will never offer a cost effective replacement, they are counting on this business down the road. It will be a cash cow. The cars will be bought cheaply by dealers and refitted and sold for a premium.

I keep being told that 296 production has been halted and that the car has serious ‘drivetrain’ issues with advanced mileage. Another baseless rumour? I’ve done 5,000 trouble free miles in mine.

Is 230 miles “advanced”? Asking for a friend.

Hybrid side or with the engine components?

I look there first because they [should] all qualify for CPO warranty and FFS financing.

After the 7 year warranty runs out, I wouldn’t touch the car with a 10 foot pole.
