Years ago I worked with a bloke who had a short wheelbase 2.2 into which he'd stuffed a hotted up 2.7 and all the suspension mods.

As a road car it was unforgiving and ready to swap ends at any moment. Fun for half an hour, but too much effort after that.

Apart form that horrid injection which I took of my Carrera 3.0 ,I enjoyed the ride ,rare model and that rear guard flare always worked for me as a fan in the late 70s/80s

A mate of mine paid $65K for a very nice 964 "backdate" a few years ago, before the Magnus Walker nonsense got started.

Maybe $160K is the new normal for hot-rodded 911's or maybe the market will reprice them. Whom knows. There's still a lot of dumb money around.

But I would be surprised if modified cars hold their value in the long term. (apart from RUF, Singer, Emory cars)

I'm not lying awake at nights, but if one came up, it might be a bit of fun for a while.

If you want one and can afford it, you’ll buy one. That’s how the market works. What you or others think is what they’re worth is irrelevant as you’re not buyers. The end
