BTW - the two rocks in the picture with the Monza Alfa are from Monza Banking and Brooklands Banking. The dark one in the seat is from the banking that I got in 1989 when I was there for the GP. there was a pile of debris in a pot hole at the top of the banking by one of the marshal posts... the other one is from my visit about 5 years ago to Brooklands...
Very nice collection! I am only collecting one subscription project at the moment, the Agora Ferrari GTO...but I do have a number of complete kits that I am beginning to wonder if I will ever begin and complete...such as...Pocher F40, Testarossa, Alfa Romeo Monza, Alfa Romeo Muletto, Lotus 72D, LeGrand Mercedes 300 SLR, and the IXO Mercedes W196R...I can see you have completed many more models, so your collection gives me the inspiration to finish mine
I take my time... a little here and there. I've got 3 going right now in various stages... that is a bit unusual... but its an hour here or there.
Pocher are about to announce, drum roll please, a Gulf Porsche 917. Sigh. What on earth possesses companies to make models that already exist? They claim that it is a brand-new model, not using the existing IXO / Agora model. We'll see.
I wonder if someone could build my plastic 1/12 Porsche Turbo rsr…. I know what it will look like if I do it… urgh
From the pictures it looks a bit different - it has the high tail fins...from 71 vs. the 70 model of Agora. I have the 917 model and it is very nice... I'm not sure i want a 2nd one... the build was pretty straight forward, some of the engine details were nice - but the instructions were terrible... as well for the front suspension I remember being confused a lot on the orientation of the parts, it was not really clear.
The Pocher version is the 'short' tail configuration, whereas the IXO had the intermediate tail- that leaves the opportunity for someone to bring us the 'long tail' Martini and Hippe liveries ............
yes, the Agora version is the Movie Le Mans version 917K - kurtz... the Pocher version is the K with the two small tail plains on each side of the rear body work from 71. at least that is what I have seen. the only thing that you would have to do to modify to the LH version is to modify the tube frame further aft and make the rear lower fenders. and spare tire holder.

I'm just starting the Agora 250 GTO build... I've done the engine already, and now down to the first wheel.... what a nightmare!
I received pack 4 for the GTO last week...have not started any of the stages of the model yet, but I am tempted to try and build that wheel...
Oh My GOD... its horrible. I swear the spokes are not long enough. I've had to bend the hook a bit to get them to fit, and even then it's just not fun. So hard to get in there with all the tiny holes.... I would rather a pre-made solution vs. the individual spokes. The Bugatti came with a pre-done version with tiny discs... and I think those worked really well. Otherwise, the kit is nice, the engine alone is great.

Hmm, very surprised by your comments. Here are the two wheels finished, about an hour and a half for each. I used small double-sided tapes to immobilize the spokes, from the Bugatti Atlantic IXO kit. I only painted the hubs in satin aluminum, with Tamiya TS17 spray paint. And I added the Borrani badges and balancing weights. I am quite satisfied with the result! Pack 5 arrived 10 days ago, the assembly of the different steps is done. I also modified the oil tank. On the other hand, the parts called "oil pump" are actually the electric fuel pumps. And since we have the usual pump located at the front of the engine, it is strange that we also have additional pumps... Finally, I also started to create the Watt's linkage which will be fixed to the rear of the differential, and forgotten by Agora/Centauria. Even though it will certainly be invisible at the end of the assembly ! Obviously, there will still be a lot of details to add as the editing progresses. And here is the engine with the last parts received. It's starting to look like a Colombo V12, but there is still a lot of work to do ! : Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi everyone The work continues slowly...Here is the engine today, with some improvements and accessories not planned by Agora. To be continued ! Etienne Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just recently noticed this thread. I have built the 1/12 MFH 250 GTO and 1967 312. I believe they turned out very nicely, but are a lot of work, especially the wire wheels on the 250 GTO. For something different I tried the 1/8 Agora 917K. The result was excellent, but I felt a little guilty about how much easier the Agora models are than the MFH models. Nevertheless, I'm now building the Agora DB5, since I wanted a model of that car. I modify the Agora models with actual wiring, brake lines etc., but don't go overboard. I admit it is nice to not have to worry about too much painting.
I wish Hiro would start printing the wire wheels. I have seen printed wire wheels in 1/24th scale from USCP that are more accurate than the 1/12th Hiro wheels. The future will be printed wire wheels, and they are a lot easier to build. By the way, Hiro did do printed wire wheels on their 315/335 kits. It must have been an experiment.
