I have a fibreglass moulding which I assume fits to the RHS air intake in the engine bay. This piece came with the car but has never been fitted. I cannot find the moulding in the parts book or from any of the online sellers.

While I have the engine removed I wanted to try and fit the moulding, but it is not clear how it should be attached.

A couple of questions which I hope someone can help with, 1) does the moulding belong to the car, and 2) if yes, how is it supposed to be fitted ? If anyone has a photo that would be great.

I have attached a few photos to better explain. Grateful for any advice on this. I have scoured the online images but cannot find anything.

    Thanks
    Mike

That part appears to be home made, and not correct. Best I can do, as probably a potentially modification of the airbox ?

That is the OEM vent for the front blower motors that feed fresh air to the cabin. There should be 2 of them (one per side and directional) and they fit between the inside of the lower nose and the fan motors. The molding is not a shaped piece but rather bought by the roll. Some cars had it stapled and some adhered.

Here is a link to the foam profile. It is available from many suppliers and this is what it looks like for reference:

Thanks for the advice, it fits perfectly on the front right hand side. I now need to try and find one for the left hand side
