Small world, I made a bunch of body parts for him, nice fellow, told me he was very ill had worked in El Salvador with the US Gov.t, but would not tell me what he did.
He came to retrieve them in CA. after I brought them up as luggage, and did come with his friend. The receiver of the car?
No idea. About 3 years ago, maybe pre-pandemic'. Possibly, if the car was so bad, never used my parts...
Do not have a note on what was there as my PC died with all the info.

    Dino, sure got around...

    Regards, Alberto

PS. his name was Edward Peterson, and the fellow wth him was his son. The door skins and valances were the parts I brought.

Yes. The typical red, metallic brings out the chrome / brightens up the Dino on a sunny day. .
Day one - fuse wire wasn't properly connected broke down 1/2 mile from the house - thought it was out of gas walked to station and went another 1/2 mile broke down. Dealer techs came out no luck had to be picked up dealer is only a few miles away.
Day two - picked up at dealer drove home and couldn't get windows up. Washed it couldn't get it to start. Charged battery works perfect quick drive.
Day three - should be interesting :)
Most fun and one of the best looking Ferrari - it's very easy to drive with spirit / sounds.
What other curvy vintage rear engine Ferrari Spider is under 1m.

Drive and photo? Mmmhh. That may be day 4, if that is least of worries.
    A drone possibly? :)

    Beautiful car, enjoy it!

Bad start but don't let that get in your way. Mine was very reliable. Never broke down on me once. Lost the alternator once in LA traffic but drove it all the way to Monterey and back on the battery charging it along the way. I was lucky in that I broke the clutch cable once 3 feet out of the garage. Yes, the distributor leaks oil. Yes, 2nd gear synchro crunches when cold. Some things are eternal. Builds character.

But when I sold it after 14 years of ownership it still had the original Dinoplex. So aside from the usual quirks I found it quite reliable. It always started. Best of luck with it.

Thank. Day 3 was my lucky charm and it ran perfectly all day to the office and around town. I'm good to go!
We went to Vegas together way back on the first trip - Hubbell Stephanie to name a few was quite a good time.
By the way I gave you the name Mayor way back when :) you made a 430 Red Spider pic / video with a cloud of rubber / patches.

I think we are derailing the original thread purpose, possibly start a new on this lovely Dino.

    Great 3rd day!

Fair - Paid around 6 - original ask mid 7's quick sale due to health.
    A decent Dino for a complete restoration is above 300k - restoration 12 - 18 months 400k plus.
My F dealer rates are well above 300 per - a good shop at 200.00 @1500 hours is 300k plus 50k paint and parts, the restoration shops are going out.
Dino's are bringing 7's add GTS C&F - personally don't understand C&F other than more rare.
Reason I posted here - was really wanting a Daytona Spider - after reading and learning from owners the Dino was the better driver and IMO better looking. I think the 6 cylinder is very under rated and perhaps when people read these "price threads" they will see the value is not what it was bought at vs how it can be enjoyed.
Daytona Spider is 2-3M v Dino 1/3 doesn't make any sense for a rear engine Ferrari with curves.

Shawn, possibly what I was told is incorrect. That's OK.
I am contributing in theory a few parts. So far nothing....:)

$120k seems crazy for what it was, but that is what it sold for

That’s really a wild price considering that hardly anything on it is usable other than the VIN number. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with it.

I have no particular insight as to what’s gonna happen with it, The only thing I can do with my head to rationalize the situation is that somebody Needs a clean VIN to make a shady Dino legit

Shawn, cannot always consider the worst, as there are still honest people out there. :)

Another possibility, send it to the 3rd world where the restoration will be considerably less expensive ;)

Yes, Daytona inserts. You need to get a copy of The Dino Compendium by Matthias Bartz available here: www.dino-book.com
Order one before the 2nd edition sells out.
