Wahhhhh. Now its the press to blame. Pope next for this 'leader'. His own actions and mouth are the issue.

No different than Ferrari now is F1 - A luxury brand is born. Sorry fans if you dont have the money to buy from our sponsors we dont need you lol :)

Latest global deal shows F1 is a luxury brand in itself
OPINION: A 10-year partnership with LVMH will bring the likes of Moet, TAG Heuer and Louis Vuitton to F1 – but the sport can boast its own high-end products

Formula 1 and LVMH sign 10-year partnership deal
In a deal reported to be worth as much as $1billion, the conglomerate has signed on as a global partner of the series

Luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Moet will be present on the Formula 1 grid from next year after Liberty Media agreed a 10-year global partnership with LVMH which could be worth a reported $1billion.

The deal will start from the 2025 season onwards and includes LVMH brands becoming involved in hospitality, activations and limited editions, adding to the presence the company already has within F1.

Watch brand TAG Heuer will replace Rolex as the sport’s official timekeeping partner in a move that ends a 12-year association with the Swiss company and also does not affect TAG’s ongoing agreement with Red Bull or the Monaco Grand Prix.

The relationship between F1 and the LVMH conglomerate flourished last year as the company’s Moet Hennessy brand sponsored the Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023, a race promoted by F1 owners Liberty themselves.

Yes. The only thing needed. Too expensive or actually, its about not letting big teams run away from small teams. Budget cap crap. Most teams appear to bring 3-4 updates per season. 1 day of testing after every 5 races would be enough to help validate and possibly bring more competition. They will not do this. Better to let teams waste what little money they have and stay non competitive. F1 has to decide if it wants to actually compete or hold concerts near a race.

    So - NOT 'sustainable' lol

The FIA says it’s not able to support more F1 races on the calendar with only one team of personnel

Domenicali: Rotational F1 races in Europe coming “very, very soon”
F1 CEO confirms the European calendar will be overhauled with some potentially hosting grands prix on a bi-annual basis
    Mark Mann-Bryans Nov 7, 2024, 6:07 PM

An unspecified number of European Formula 1 grands prix face the prospect of hosting races on a rotational basis sooner rather than later, according to series CEO Stefano Domenicali.

With a record-breaking 24 rounds already crammed onto the F1 calendar, the scope for adding new venues is now arguably smaller than ever.

Domenicali has previously suggested rotating European races would be an option, but now he has said such a move is on the cards.

Formula 1 has released its financial results for the third quarter of its fiscal year 2024 and while the overall picture remains positive, the company reported a slight dip in primary revenue compared to the same period last year.

Total revenue for Q3 stood at $911m, up from $887m in the same period in 2023 – an increase of 2.7 percent. However, Formula 1's primary revenue fell from $887m to $861m – a dip of 3 percent.

This decline is primarily attributed to a difference in the number of races held within the quarter, a factor that typically affects season-based revenue.

Grand Prix racing's commercial rights holder, Liberty Media, clarified the impact of the altered race calendar in its Q3 earnings release.

“There were seven races held in the third quarter of 2024, compared to eight races held in the third quarter of 2023,” it stated.

“There are 24 events scheduled for the 2024 race calendar, compared to 22 events held in 2023.”

They will find out if the attending public accepts this or if they will lose F1 followers.

So then - no need to really compete next year. Is Ferrari going to do just this lol :) ? I can see Williams and Sauber.

Why Ferrari thinks F1’s wind tunnel rules could be “game changer” for 2026
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur believes some teams may be tempted to write off next year to gain extra wind tunnel time for 2026
    Jonathan Noble Nov 11, 2024, 10:16 AM

Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur thinks that Formula 1’s aerodynamic testing restrictions could be a “game changer” next year if teams deliberately write off the season to gain an advantage for 2026.

F1 is approaching its next rules era in two years' time, when revamped turbo hybrid engines with increased battery power will be matched with all-new aerodynamic regulations.

The wholesale change coming means teams are already unlikely to commit to major redesigns for next year, because they do not want to divert too much resource from the next generation cars.

However, Vasseur thinks that some squads could even be minded to sacrifice their performance over the course of next season to give themselves maximum wind tunnel development time for 2026 – which could prove to be a significant gain.

Speaking about if the aerodynamic testing rules, which apply a sliding scale of allowance based on constructors’ championship positions, could prove decisive in dictating the speed of teams, Vasseur said that the situation would be totally different to how it is now.

“It's not critical in this period if someone has an advantage and is given more [wind tunnel] runs,” he said. “That is because today we are making such small progress each run.

“But the game changer could be '26 because you could have some teams that are perhaps not fighting for the championship next year that decide: ‘Okay, for '25 we don't care if we are Px [in the constructors'] and we don't care if we are x plus two or x minus two. We will just go full on the '26 project.

“If you are fighting for something, you will have the temptation to do more for '25 plus, [and] on the top [of that], the other teams already have more, because they are Px compared to P1 in the table. So the Px will be fully focused on '26 but the P1 will be split [across the two seasons].”

F1’s ATR dictates the amount of wind tunnel time and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) capacity that can be used for an "aerodynamic testing period" (ATP) of two months, based on championship position.

This is a sliding scale, where the team that finishes first in the championship starts a new period with 70% of the baseline allowance, in 5% increments up to the 115% multiplier for finishing 10th, in an effort to create closer grids.

The tables are reset twice per year based on the constructors’ championship position at that time. One allocation runs from 1 January to 30 June, while the other runs from 1 July to 31 December.

The current levels, which were decided after this year’s Austrian Grand Prix, are detailed below.

The mid-season reset could be what teams may target, as being lower down halfway through the season could maximise wind tunnel testing for the rest of the year ahead of 2026.

This system offers different strategic options over the season to the teams.
