Thanks for the info. That was not an answer to my question though.

    My question was:
Has 499P derived the engine block from 296? (i.e. is the block reinforced with external components to be load bearing or is it a totally new load bearing block?)

More powerful as the 499 P modificata is still respecting somehow overall WEC power range: max 707 PS from thermal and 272 from electrical- combined max P 870 PS

The ICE maximum theoretical limit is 1030 PS, so getting 900 on a road application is really a lot.
About the price, we'll see, but I expect the 250 plus option to cost a lot, thoguh not like 499 P modificata....Take into account the 250 XX will have higher price, approaching those 4-5 million...

All - same design as the haptic buttons except they are all real buttons.

499P and 296 GT3 are both derived from 296 engine block, though with specific adaptation and reinforcements, I don't have access in detail.
250 is increasing the specific power from around 220 PS/l to 300 PS/l, so it is safe to assume the overall engine is severely reworked to assure proper cooling and shock resilience, having much higher thermal load, higher peak pressure in cylinder head and higher pressure boost, which implies new ad-hoc turbines in both design and dimensioning, not just calling them e-turbo and that's it. This iteration of the V6 is the most challenging and game changing ever presented in an offical OEM series road car (no tuning car). 300 PS/l while complying with all regulation imposing filters and anti-pollutant reduction, is something not even achieved by Koenigsegg on pure gasoline, only seen on E85 fuel before.

Performance-wise, this will be extraordinary. No doubts. What I really wonder is the sound actually. Hope they found a special solution for the exhaust sound!

Did they disclose the weight? Would be kinda odd if they didn't....

About load bearing block discussion, just need to wait for the 17th October...
But the most interesting thing to see will be the aerodynamic flow map simplified summary, it is the beginning of a new age for Ferrari sports series aero study, something which the elegant beauty of previous car didn't need for obvious reason.

Or perhaps they quoted a power to weight ratio and we can do our own math :)

Sounds super interesting! The mule already showed that the car is almost an empty shell with lots of aero canals under the surface.

It’s entertaining watching the debate over kilos, every drop of HP, statistics and data. None of which will amount to a hill of beans with regards to how well it will sell. This isn’t a 911 or market compatible car that speed junkies will want or ever get their hands on. The majority of people that will buy this are the sorts that will buy it because they can, and they can say they did. All I hope for is a nice shape, good sound and a car that will do what a halo is intended to do. Bring aura to the brand, and lift all tides with it.. Bonus if it ends up being a poster on some kids wall that inspires them to achieve the means to someday own one..

It really has taken them a long time to admit failure in this department. I don't hate the haptics, but they are very slow compared to regular buttons and quite pointless since one could be driving at high speed when using them

Look positive way, you spend quarter price on SP90 XX and get performance almost as good as F80, not mention about two extra cylinders :D :D :D :D :D

An interesting side note I haven’t seen mentioned.

From what I’ve experienced, this car has the by far strictest background check for qualified buyers. Every buyer I’m familiar with, has had to send documentation including pictures of their current collection. In some cases, the collections have been visited physically for verification. This information is forwarded by the dealer, to the factory.

No car unless you could prove a current collection of Ferrari’s to the standards of their desired level.

I generally agree, however this is a once a decade Ferrari hypercar so people are naturally curious about the headline figures. This is their latest flagship so dimensions and stats carry more weight than they usually do.
