Nice to hear everyone who so it in flash is impressed. Sadly I saw only photos. Does anyone had a chance to ask why we have car running around for months, cover basically just with wrap? Not what they usually do.
hahah, there were, but not gonna happen. And what is photo compared to those who actually saw the car and sat in it...
That's what the same V6 base, fine tuned and eolved only with performance in mind, without any regulation and commercial constraints, could achieve on paper, in the Ferrari vision GT model, which may be a virtual model, but based on real components. "The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo sports the same 120-degree 3-litre turbo V6 architecture adopted on the 296 GTB, 296 GTS and 296 GT3 that also powers the new 499P. However, in this installation, there were no technical regulation constraints to comply with, so it was further honed to unleash genuinely extreme performance. In this particular configuration, the engine is tuned to deliver a massive 1030 cv at 9000 rpm, with an additional 240 kW (326 cv) available from three electric motors, one on the rear axle and one on each of the front wheels." These concepts cars often conceal more usuful info than what is commonly perceived. https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/corporate/articles/ferrari-vision-gran-turismo
Ferrari isn't actually famous for homologating its cars by the launch (or at least they are not releasing the info). We are still waiting homologation details for 12 Cilindri...
Of course, I literally wrote "virtual model", and of ocurse it is just a concept for a game, but they didn't invent specs and features throwing a dice, the hybrid layout is basically the same architecture of 250 one, being the ICE and EV power also very similar. So, while being a vitual study only, there are some correlations in any case. And if Ferrari declares that in a concept model, the V6 can reach 1030 PS @9000rpm, when unrestricted by regulations, while being able to output 900 PS in the road going 250, I continue to think that the Vision GT is a very coherent exercise of the hybrid layout that was tranlated into reality with the 250. Other manufacturers joined GT vision program and just invented future cars out of nowhere, but in this case I think we got good ancitipation of something that we will observe for real in just a few days.
Given the close relationship between Ferrari’s upcoming hypercar and the 499P, it makes you wonder if the name might reflect that connection. Could we see something like 499 GTB, 499 GTS, 499 Speciale, or even a 499P Modificata? It would be a great way to honor the racing heritage while showcasing the evolution of the design for a road-going hypercar.
There might be some truth in the figures. Probably the max power is reached at 9000 rpm (or lower) in the F250 then.
Could be, plusF250 has limitations related to road application/emissions/noise/reliability...so even at same RPM it will achieve lower power
Unless they keep that name for SF90 replacement....maybe one will be called 499 GTB and the other 499 stradale, but would be too similar...
How about 499 LeMans or LM if they cant use the name and then 499 Aperta for the open car (if there is one as rumored) and then 499 XX (if there is one as rumored) Either way the car sounds amazing, congratulations to Ferrari and the lucky few!
LaRossa is what I've heard/read. But that might have been a joke. It wouldn’t surprise me if it's true, though.
They named their last car "twelve cylinders", so who knows what their next move will be. "The Red" would not surprise me. But like I said, only a rumour I've read earlier in this thread as well as in a comment section on IG. Since I've read it twice on two different platforms, there might be something to it. I highly doubt it is true, but we will know soon.
Given the bizarre nomenclature of so many recent models it's not that much of a stretch. Let's hope it's a joke. It would be difficult to come up with something worse than LaFerrari in any case.
La Rossa wouldnt suprise me even though it's an absolutely dreadful name just because they went with La Ferrari last time which was an awful name at the time and still is a terrible name !
Well, it actually looks like Ferrari trademarked "La Rossa" and "La Rossa A" back in july 2023, haha! "La Rossa" was trademarked together with "F80", "Drake", "12 Cilindri", "6 Cilindri", "296 Mugello", "Milano", "Montecarlo", "Dolcevita", and "500 Testarossa". They also secured the names "499 GTB", "499 GTS", "499 Speciale", and "499P Modificata" So La Rossa or F80 might be our best guesses so far. https://carbuzz.com/news/ferrari-la-rossa-ferrari-drake-or-ferrari-f80-potential-names-of-next-ferrari-halo-car/
