He does have a way though of pulling things off. Space x looked pretty dead in the early days, tesla was dead in 2013 and musk was worth near nothing with no home to live in due to divorce, yest less than 10 years later he is the richest man in the world.
Hubris got him this time. But he is smart enough to figure things out.

10 years from now he could be the centuries biggest fool, or worth 10x the next richest man, thats just how he rolls.

I’ll predict here he’s the first trillionair and it happens in 15yrs. Neuralink is coming and it will first make medical breakthroughs that are unmatchable in modern medicine. Starlink space x and tsla should get him close but Neuralink is the dark horse in the race that could eclipse it all. I would love to become a LP but those deals haven’t come out yet he basically owns it all at this point……. Hard enough to get Space X equity when it comes out. Ppl may not like his style but he attracts the best talent. He’s ruthless in timelines as quick iterations and adjustments are the only way to success for startups looking to disrupt.

OpenAI (Elon, Peter Thiel, Sam Altman etc) will make Elon a trilionaire in less than 7 years from today, no one saw this coming, it's bigger than Tesla, SpaceX and Starlink combined (than you add those on top)

I hope that I can be here in 7 years to collect that case of beer -- that's probably a 50/50 proposition IMO ;).

    Serious questions:

    1. When Musk predicted 10 years ago that we'd be riding the Hyperloop today from LA to SF in 30 minutes for $20, did you believe him? Yes or no?

    2. When Musk claimed that he could build tunnels 10X faster and for 1/10th the cost of others (and we'd have car elevators at the entrances, and this was a solution to traffic), did/do you believe him? Yes or no?

No, Musk is mainly vaporware hyperbole and has always been... Guess what's not, OpenAI and holly SH#T, I'm blown away with this version 3.5 and 4.0 is coming in less than 1 year and should have 10 times the power.

    Then there's SpaceX and StarLink.

I have always said Tesla will get crushed by other auto manufactures like Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc, most had sat on the sidelines because it was not profitable to make an electric car until about now and now is when you see them making the move too.

Elon Musk And Others Warn Of Potential Auto Loan Crisis Ahead
The Tesla CEO went so far as to say the situation with auto loans could “potentially” become “the biggest financial crisis ever.”

Forgot to add open AI but Nueralink is still the dark horse. The possibilities to meld the AI world and humans is vast. Throw in Open AI and things get pretty interesting.

No and he didn’t think so either but that concept will work somewhere someday. Hyper loop is the weakest of the companies but the premise is the same. Hey ain’t there a better way? Makes everyone think a little harder. His main thing is build technology trees. Some will die others have grown. Tesla sure has sprouted a whole new car industry between EV/AV. Remarkable.

Tesla FSD gets ground truth through LiDAR, specifically Luminars unit. They need to adopt LiDAR and they will win. Right now NVDA and Hyperion Drive seems to be the future winner.

It took Facebook 2 years to get 1 million users, OpenAI ChatGPT got 1 million in 5 days.

BTW, HYPERLOOP deals with zoning/goverment etc, PITA... forget about Nueralink for the next 10 years. OpenAI is happing right now so fast and most non tech people have no idea.

OpenAI will be the most valuable company ever at some point before it gets knocked off by a few other competitors.

Lucid was set up by former Tesla executives and engineers, who brought the Model S to market.

I don't know how much of a reliable prediction that is, given his views are tainted by both wishful thinking and sour grapes.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Agree. But fact is, Lucid production is minuscule compared to Tesla. Musk has stated Tesla being near bankruptcy at times and is famous for talking about 'production hell' of ramping up.

Not worth the (widespread) cost for the (rare) benefit (and it would've done nothing for the person in the white truck).

Maybe..Maybe not..anything that saves 1 life is worth it.

In Manhattan, They changed the traffic light timing sequence to All lights red for 20 seconds in between each change..
I got to tell you..there are just no more T bone accidents anymore...its every little thing that counts.

Not if the cost is too high. With your "logic", no one should be allowed to use an automobile, stairs should be outlawed, etc..
