This car is coming up for auction on December the 8th in Dripping Springs, Texas. It sold for 20,900.00 in September of 2018 I believe. I am going to see if I can find a VIN between now and the auction date. Here is the listing from Sotheby's Auction site from 2018....

According to a Bill of Sale on file, this 308 GTB was formerly owned by Frank Amoto of Howard Beach, New York. Further information on file includes the claim that over $60,000 was invested in building it as a race car, including the installation of dual fuel cells, a full roll cage, JFZ regulated brake system, built-in triggered fire extinguisher, window screen nets, a retractable Momo steering wheel, and OMP racing seats with a fire-point harness. The drivetrain has been fitted with a Sunkin pump and large aluminum radiator with electric fans, and is cooled by additional air drawn through a large rooftop GT scoop. Finishing off the package are 16-in. Gotti wheels. The car has been part of the current owner’s collection since 2012 and has been largely stored amongst his other antique automobiles, and will require a thorough mechanical service before taking to the track.

I have owned a 2004 360 Spider for about 10 years now and enjoy the hell out of it. If this 308 ends up going to auction really cheap I might buy it. My indy mechanic does not like this idea at all, he notes the misaligned doors to the back quarter panels and the lack of a title (bill of sale only). But he was interested in getting a closer look at whatever fuel injection system is on the car.

What do you 308 guys think?

Do you plan to use it as a track car? Because that's the only (good) reason to buy that over an unmolested 308.

I think I would do a 308 rally car, something I would never do to a nice car.

I see stuff like this go usually in the ball park of 50k for the last couple years, needs a shave and a haircut. Having said that. I’d love to have it

Agree. It’ll clean up well enough for what it is (a race car) and looks like loads of fun for $40-50k.

That roof scoop has to go. I am going to bid on the car and see if anyone at the auction is braver than I.
