Speaking about power/weight and aero it may not be so different from W1's performances, this leads to believe that the real magic is actually somewhere else, which may be represented by vehicle dynamics electronics and controls, in order to emphasize driving dynamics and handling, so I expect big evolution on SSC, FDE and other newly patented Ferrari vehicle control systems. Other than that, maybe is just related to aesthetic and that's it. But it seems the 250 and its XX version will finally represent the Ferrari return to very high performance and innovation cars. I think Manzoni is producing best designs when is put in charge of vehicles where the aero is pushed to the extreme. His best effort, awarded with all the most important prizes, is the FXXK, hopefully 250 XX will reach similar peaks, though it's hard to beat the stylish elegance and sportiness blend of FXXK EVO.
It's not strange considering this will be a once-in-a-decade big moment. I still remember that 11.5 years ago in the spring, on the first press day of the Geneva Motor Show, I was in my college dormitory using an old Windows XP laptop, frantically refreshing the web to try to be the first to see the true face of the "F150". However, the first leaked picture did not appear on the Internet until a few hours before the launch. If I remember correctly, it was a full frontal photo of the red car on the cover of a magazine. Soon, clearer frontal image and photo of doors open followed but no third photo was leaked until the official release that afternoon. And the name was leaked also very shortly before official launch, by the big screen behind the stand of Ferrari. I remember there were LaJokes and LaMemes of the LaName everywhere. But honestly, I was in awe of the name LaFerrari from the very beginning. It answered a long-standing question of mine: what should the successor to a great flagship and name like Enzo be called? More than a decade later I can still recall the excitement of seeing the official name, which was no less than the excitement of seeing the official launch itself.
Reveal tomorrow with talks leading to Sunday’s public event. Ferrari’s marketing is unmatched. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You are giving me nostalgia with the windows XP and LaFerrari too. I was also using an old laptop with the XP in it when this car was about to be released. I think 458 Speciale followed after the LF release. Those were the good old days. Hopefully the F80(F250) will have a proper name this time around.
Tomorrow we will see it unclad. I still think it will look better with a body colored roof. The side profile of the car is slightly better than LaFerrari imho.
Isn't it body colored then? At least the engine cover appears to be (based on the pictures). Looks like a proper old days Le Mans racer.
As seen in the brochure photo posted yesterday the roof is black forward of the B-pillar. I don’t expect the roof can be colour (except if body is black, obviously) because what you’re not seeing the door-top scoop which ‘must’—my emphasis—be black because it’s a continuation of the black from the ‘NACA’ cut-out and so a body-coloured A-pillar would just be floating on the black upper door. Also, from VarryX pics and red-draped unveil car, it seems the nose panel is dipped down between the headlights… maybe just an illusion but could be it’s not completely flat.
True. F250 then follows the color trend set by Daytona SP3 with roof and engine cover, except this time the engine cover appears to be fully "La Rossa"...
Very confused marketing department. 12C is officially not inspired directly by the Daytona, but by what the car would look like if it was going through space (Militello's words, not mine), and now their once a decade hypercar was teased 24h before launch on the dot, only to be taken down within 2 hours. Would love to be a fly on the wall in Maranello sometimes
That’s rear looks so sexy with the red draped over the wing. Major F40/50 retro vibes messing with my soul right now..
It's always the case when special guests get to see the cars early, Ferrari are one of the best in the world at making special guests feel special.. I remember clearly when folks got previews of the SF90, and how they all said it was the best looking thing ever, like a spaceship etc..
Back up again. Seems like they took it down to change it from saying 14:00 to 2:00. Had 10 years to think of that, but messed it up in the teaser https://www.instagram.com/p/DBMDezsN6Co/
The video is back on Ferrari instagram account with timing changed from 14:00 CEST to 2:00 PM CEST. Don't get why they bothered to take it down in the first place.
They must have received complaints from people who couldn’t find ‘14’ on the dial of their Rolex, maybe?
