Question: Why would someone choose an F80XX over a 499P Modificata?

I feel like Manzoni can design 80% of a good car. Every body line looks futuristic and streamlined from the cockpit rearward, but the mirrors look bulbous and clumsy, and the front quarter panel looks like someone drew a 2D F40 in profile and made a cutout; it doesn’t relate to any other part of the car. The 90-degree body angles at the front corner opening are an abhorrent new design language, and the fact that Ferrari tells you upfront that you can’t paint the black stripe lets you know Manzoni insists on foisting it on you, and they recognize many aren’t going to like it. It’s his fingerprints for moving the design language forward, and it just doesn’t look “Ferrari” elegant to me. But cool.

I'm assuming it won't be, but that would certainly change the calculus.

I think in person that this will look really good. I am warming up to the design

The front black stripe is actually a three-piece panel. Two smaller ones above headlights and one bigger one in the Centre. I think if the smaller ones remain black and the bigger one is body-coloured it would look so much better.

Beg to differ. As someone else has already said, the black stripe gives balance to the design, also adding focus and personality. Without the stripe, it reminds me of the fuzzy design of a Noble.

Do you think it will be the usual Ferrari small weave pattern or more traditional weave? I'm thinking the small weave could look strange on a full body....

So now that the car has been revelaed I can say that the end product is pretty much as I expected, a car that is more striking than pretty. Funnily enough I think the black area between the headlights work better here than it does on the 12 cilindri. I am a little surpised by the extent of the negative rections to it online, sure it may not win any beauty pageants but it looks radical which is kind of the point when it comes to cars in its class. I certainly prefer it to the new Mclaren.

Interesting. So they'll fully homologate 20-30 cars? Sounds $$

Agree with every bit, especially mirrors (ugh!) and flat front fender, unrelated to side/door. I see what they did resembling the F40 idea, but the panel where the shield sits is so heavy and falls so flat... Also, the shape of kick panel/side sill in front of the rear wheel... again, really??

F80 and 12C designs trying to update older models reminds me of all the throwbacks from the 2010s when they would remix classic songs and remake classic movies. Sure, you got the same premise from the older vehicle, but you completely lost all of the magic that made it special in the first place.

The first pic reminds me of another rather long V6 engined supercar: Jaguat XJ220. Especially the bonnet but also the side air intakes and rear wing.

Maybe it is a good idea to have the black stripe in the front to distance it from the Jag. :)

A face only a mother could love. Manzoni is dragging this company down the toilet.

Before , the Ferrari Halo Car was revealed at Geneva with all the due ceremonial ... now it's revealed by... Shmee.

The design lacks finesse, it's heavy, and the front is probably the worst I've seen, it looks like it came out of a Manga!!
It's an assembly of several cars, a little 296, a little F40, a little Senna... Sad to see that you can release such a design after 5 years spent on it, but understandable from my point of view bar Manzoni have never managed to solve this equation, namely what must be a Ferrari!
We are very, very far from the Valkyrie, on all levels.
