Polarizing design responses in F80 thread. Will be interesting to quantify.
I am in the lukewarm camp. Need to see it out in the open and in different colours to form a more concrete opinion. I don't think it looks as good as a Laferrari but I also don't hate it. My biggest gripe is the car seems to lack cohesion from certain angles but it also has the kind of presence you would expect in an exotic.
Has a lot of sf90 with 12c design language … not a looker but maybe a grower … probably an awful sound albeit hyper fast … think the only reason to buy one is financial as I am sure they will attract a huge premium .. imagine running one of these out of warrantee !
Just listened the the Ferrari launch video .. it sounds identical to a 296 ! Even the Ferrari video failed to make it sound good . Seems to be firmly in the camp of the xj220 or v6 ford gt
While I love the F50 as a car, I think it's ugly, but not as ugly as the Enzo and LaF. The F80 is pretty neutral to me like the F40. Only the 288 GTO is beautiful imho. 288 GTO - 9/10 F40 - 6/10 F50 - 4/10 Enzo - 3/10 LaF - 2/10 F80 - 5/10 (1 point deduction for the black stripe, so 6/10 in all black) KC23, that I like - 8/10 SP3 Daytona, meh - 7/10 if I'm being generous Mind you I'm rating for beauty. I can like cars for looking cool or impressive, like a Delta Integrale or GR Yaris. I rate the F40 pretty high in that regard, 8/10 maybe even 9/10. It looks purposeful and iconic. But it's not that pretty.
If it had state of the art high-revving NA V12, that would be at least one redeeming quality. But it does not.
If it gets built the Nilu 27 will look and sound a lot better IMO. Too bad that car does not have a Ferrari badge on it!! Maybe Ferrari should hire that designer to do their next supercar body.
car design is like fashion, maybe the survey should be divided to age groups. be interesting as the new car may attract the young gen?
Well 90 % of the people buying these are not young, but they sell out anyway. It's the Ferrari name they are buying.
I'm one of the youngest people on here and think something that ugly can only be cleansed with fire. I'm starting to take more pride in the Pininfarina badge on my car than the Ferrari badge. Seriously. Between this and the 12c, Hellen Keller could make a better design.
It’s hard to believe that the same company produced this recent masterpiece. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had issues with both the Enzo and La Ferrari when they came out but both have really grown on me. I still think the 288 has some off lines as well. The mirrors really annoy me. I’d own em all though.
