Yeah I’m just saying … those paying $6mm or $7mm in the aftermarket are going to be paying 20 X the price for essentially an ultimate version of the 296.

Kudos to Ferrari for making VIP clients pay $4mm for this lol

Another thought I've had about this car is I do really like the name...

Makes me think even more-so that the Enzo should have been the F60 and the "LaFerrari" (worst name ever) should have been the F70.

Or maybe I'm just too simple

Again, apart from the basic engine architecture (120 degrees 3 litres V6 - but not the specifics: block, internals, turbos etc), the F80's engine has nothing to do with that of the 296; there is a reason that they are separated by 237 HP. Also, the F80 has nothing to do with the 296, other than the same cylinder count. Guess what, though?! The F1 and the WEC hypercars also have 6 cylinders!!! Those poor smacks that paid 6 millions for the 499P Modificata...

$1m per cylinder! Must be a record for a modern car.

Say what you want. It’s a hot rodded 296. The first V12 hybrid Ferrari. Now THAT would have been worth the money they are charging. Buyers of this car deep down in the back of their minds will be constantly reminded that they paid $5mm for a 6 cylinder. Again, kudos to Ferrari for leaving zero dollars on the table this time. You have to admire the meatballs on these guys.

The first hybrid Ferrari was the 12 cylinder LaFerrari, a legendary motorcar no doubt!!! If you think though that the F80 is a hot-rodded 296, you don't understand much about engineering, at all...

Are you going to be buying the F80 ? Looks like a real bargain the way you are defending it.

Who gives a rats arse about their balance sheet ? The car is crap . Looks like a Lego's car. Maybe one might be tracked the rest will be garaged.

So what it has 1200 hp and the speed it has ?

    Ferrari has LOST it.

Hum 900 hp from the V6 , now donate that engine to the next 296 REMOVE the crap electric motors , carbon body , light and then we have a car.

Didn't know that this discussion was between owners only. I am speaking just as a tifoso, pardon me, sir. Not defending anything, just understanding the rationale behind their decisions. Would I have preferred a new N/A V12 producing, say, 1100 HP? Obviously!!! Do I have a problem with the V6? Not really; the F40 was "just" a V8 after all, echoing the racing scene of that time. No one seems to be too bothered by that 2.9 litre V8 nowadays...

I replied to someone who said that Ferrari is dead. Their balance sheet proves otherwise. Ferrari has always been about speed. If you don't get that, you don't get Ferrari!!! Enzo famously said once that a winning car becomes a beautiful car. Cheers.

Ferrari needs to get in touch with Pininfarina again. Make this a Ferrari , use the V6 JUST the engine from the F80 and you have a GREAT CAR !!!!

The dead comment wasnt about their financial position. Ferrari is dead in what made their brand great with regards to machines.

Speed ? why does Maclaren always beat them ?

    @MANDALAY

As you might have noticed, I never referenced the design, because it is highly subjective and have only commented about the technical sheet. If you ask me though, I don't care for the looks of that Pininfarina one bit; a generic McLaren-like design.

PS: When was the last time that McLaren beat them? The SF90 is the King of the hill under 1 million for the past few years.

Why so rude with Ferrari right now as a brand ?looks like something really personal with them..
Ok everything isn’t perfect with the brand right now, their EV program is absolutely a total nonsense and Vigna’s decision not to invest in a brand new V12 generation a huge mistake but
I think you should observe F80 as a tremendous achievement in the end.;)

My issue is 2 fold To me its ugly looks like a LEGO car and this should have been a V12 again.

No I dont have an issue with V6 at all. However these hybids are crap especially from a maker that cant get standard eclectics in a car right.

In 20 years time Ild rather have my 488GTB than any 296 GTB.

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but the fact of the matter remains that Ferrari's halo models were always (well, for the past 40 years at least) modelled after their racing endeavours, mainly F1 and WEC. You do not fancy that? It certainly is your right and prerogative! Do not try to force others into thinking that though, by gaslighting them.

Nothing personal, I have a 488GTB bought new and absolutely love it.

The Ferrari brand is just that a brand now.

When they release a car that is non hybrid with a great engine and light I will show a little more respect to them.

Porsche somehow still supplies Manuals. There is a market yet Ferrari are so cocky now , knowing full well they will sell every car and dont give a rats arse anymore.

Yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Like I said I dont like the F80 , hell i dont even like the Enzo. They could have made the perfect LaFerrari however they didnt.

Fact is now we have the V6 every other new car will be just that a V6 . The only difference will be that the electrics get bigger and bigger.

    Next Purosnage will be a V6 , Next Roma V6 , next 296 model V6 etc etc.
