F80 appreciation thread...

Love the design.
it needs to be outrageous in this current market. I understand it.

In a few years the distractors will sing a different tune.

 

I like the paint color.

 

I like it. Is it the most beautiful? No.

The Enzo wasn't either.

I like it. It makes a ton of sense. Not if you don't know your Ferrari history. But if you do....I think you can see the effort they put into it. It was a challenge. They didn't do the obvious thing.


The fact that so many people hate it makes me like it more.

 

I guess the explanation why so many people hate it is the consequence of sociological evolution led by social networks.
There is no more apprenticeship, everything should be immediate like emotions or hate.
No time to waste in discovering, learning and so on.
Lot of violence with words either..

 

I love the F80 but at 3 Mill for only 6 cylinders this will be the first Hyper Ferrari to depreciate or stay close to list IMO but we live in a crazy world and a high probability of me being totally wrong

 

I think we need one of these in the 12Cilindri section too. I'm so exhausted with all the hate online... (In general, not just with Ferrari, the internet is becoming so hostile)

 

Road going 3 litre TT V6 putting out 900hp at 9250 rpm Dino and even Enzo would be proud real Engineering at its best.

As for the V12 while someone on the Ferrari board wants the V12 dead, Ferrari will never invest the hundreds of millions required to design and build the next generation V12. So at this point there is zero point putting the current end of life V12 in a Halo model.

and before you ask the only reason they put a V12 in the Ferrari Purosangue was to sell it to the market.

 

Nothing is graved into stone about V12 future believe me ..
Their E-building has already changed his future purpose even before his opening..

 

They had no choice the e building had to change or there gravy train would dry up.
They will sell all 799 V6 F80 without issue. The V12 was only needed to make the SUV sell.
The 2 EVs on the way at 500K plus are going to be an epic fail though Fake sound will not save them.
(2+2 SUV style and a more sporty 2+2)

Yes, But I have also heard the same basic thing publicly on more than a few occasions.
I do not know what sort of time frame is on the 2nd ones launch just that it will be the 2nd EV
and most likely not to far from the 1st.

 

Ohh it's a click bait society and when you can flick your finger to get rid of things you don't want within fractions of a second and get something you do want with endless amounts of content and pleasure... Ya it starts to turn society into a bunch of judgmental pricks with the depth Of a bottle cap.

Few take a moment to understand why and instead insist that guys who are paid millions just threw something together as fast as they took to judge it.


However... Ugly is ugly and well part of that is the designers fault. It shouldn't take much to explain a design. So there is that.

Ultimately the design isn't successful. At least at launch.

 

Time will do it justice.

 

Most of the negative comments on social media towards new models are made by 14 years parroting other posts.

Purosangue looks like a CX-5
W1 looks like a Lykan
V6 hypercar is a fail

etc, etc..

And then, almost in unison, their opinions change once one ‘influencer’ green lights it.

isn’t the AMG ONE almost $3 million MSRP? It’s also a 6 cylinder.

 

I actually forgot the AMG One existed until its recent rematch with the Nurburgring.

 

I really love how JDM inspired the current lineup is!

 

And the motor has to be rebuilt every 20k miles for like 850k

 

I really like it, especially in white on blue. I would also change all black elements to white.
