Apertas will be another 499 units that brings the total production of F80 to 1298 cars At least this was/is the original plan
I haven't had a chance to see the ONE close by so I can't really judge. What I didn't like about the AMG was that Mercedes said they will produce an F1 for the road and that customers will experience a similar feeling. this is crap, no road car will EVER come close to an F1. and Mercedes struggled alot to bring it finally to the road. however kudos to them to do it and not giving up. I think engine wise it is the closest to an actual F1 car engine. the car had a delay of 3 years or so. thats a bit of a shame... I dont like the Styling of it but thats my personal taste as I have never really been a Mercedes guy. I totally agree with you regarding the center lock wheels, I miss them dearly on the F80 and I told Ferrari. Thats one of the points I dont like about the F80 and I might need to upgrade it later from the XX Version
Koenigsegg has carbon fiber wheels with center locks, no issue there. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login That doesn't mean it is not an issue for Ferrari though. But let's be honest, center locks are a gimmick (and a PITA) on road cars, and so are carbon wheels for that matter. As for the seats, who cares. Movable pedal boxes are a fad just the same. Might make sense on the 1000kg T.50 to save a few grams on the seat, not on a 1600 kg Ferrari.

The F80 will only be sold to 799 buyers who have a long history of Ferrari special limited vehicle purchases. The overwhelming of these buyers will never or rarely drive these cars. They will park them in their temperature controlled mausoleums. The overwhelming members of this forum will engage in endless opinions of the car's aesthetics and potential driving atributes and characteristics. And there are those, who do not own a Ferrari and never will, yet they are habitual posters with extreme affection for the brand. Akin to someone who has never been with a women but is addicted to watching porn and profers ilimitable judgments predicated on fantasy.
I see a lot of group C racer in it which makes me like it more. Loved that era. The top tire arch(on the top engine cover) on the rear looks great. Hard angle to catch in photos but I’m sure in person it looks fantastic. Also see some Diablo 6.0/ GT in the front which isn’t a bad thing.
These pics don't help IMO. The body cross section looks like a brick in this angle. Mondiali was really overcast and dim so that also doesn't help. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh when my friend gets his. Always hard to judge cars off of images. I also don't know why Ferrari insists on unveiling cars in such a poorly lit environment. They love showing them in that dark room with harsh lights. Unfortunately that scenario is terrible for surface reflections and really flattens the car's surfacing. There's a reason why every studio pushes the clay out into a courtyard to evaluate the highlights, etc.

After sever days looking and reading, this is the first halo car that appears to have been designed by different departments that did not talk to each other. The design flow is abrupt . Front fender / door interaction off. Front grill proportions and headlight band fighting each other. Rear end unique. Is this "design by committee" maybe ? Will this creativity age well, worthy of the group it is in, and promote (or influence) future designs , is all TBD. Let's look forward to the next "special projects car" to find out.
I wonder about another F car car with a V12 with titanium conrods and finger followers , paired with the new electric twin turbos. Maybe two small axial electric motors driving the front wheels only to help with acceleration from a standing start.. More curvy body without the two tone black trim. Less fussy rear diffuser and two exhausts rather than one central exhaust
I like it, but those black/silver trimmed wheels do it zero justice. It looks 10X better to me with blacked out or only silver.. Big car needs beefy tires filling in the wheel wells, and the silver trimmed versions give the illusion that they are smaller and more inset.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Will the F80 be campaigned at LeMans? With 799 examples produced it will meet homologation requirements. Id love to see it driven in anger. Can it compete in a claas such as the hypercar or one of the GT classes ? Could it be entered as an AM GT class?
