They ousted the POS-of-a-trophy on the last minute due to "potential similarities with other designs."
Apparently multiple companies were firing up their trademark / copyright lawyers regarding the thing.
Don’t remember the last time Ferrari seemed so dominant. Was a weird feeling seeing LEC build a gap to Max and knowing they’re on the same strategy, the tire deg was non-existant and the speed was genuine. Great win for both LEC and the team! Maybe the fact that the XJ220 looks like a beached whale and uses a 90 deg. V-6 based on and Austin Rover engine whereas the XJR-15 was based on a CF-chassis race car and looks decent has more to do with the difference in valuation.
Yes, like most Americans I don’t know much about how things are marketed in other countries, exceot maybe UK which we visit frequently.
There were 4 XJR-15 LM's built by TWR with a 7.4ltr (XJR engine) that produced north of 740hp....way more than the Mclaren F1.....for a Yakuza(Japanese mafia) client. These engines have a limit on use(mileage). Ultra-rare pieces of automotive machinery.
Lando needs alot of help and not just from Oscar. Ferrari pace is doing well to ensure he, Lando is not probably to be WDC.
Wolff questions penalty 'bias' after Verstappen escapes punishment Wolff took aim at inconsistency in decision-making at COTA

Norris had caught Verstappen in their hard-tyre stint and began to exert heavy pressure on his championship rival, although each of his efforts to pass was batted away by the Dutchman's well-curated defence. On the 45th lap, Norris drew alongside with DRS as Verstappen held the inside, and both cars ended up going off-track; Norris subsequently moved ahead of Verstappen with McLaren's pitwall content that both drivers were off the road. However, Norris could not create a lead over Verstappen large enough to absorb the eventual five-second penalty, crossing the line 4.1 seconds ahead on track. Stella says that he had "no doubt" that Norris took the correct action as both cars were on the run-off, suggesting that both gained an advantage. "My view is that the way the stewards interfered in this beautiful piece of motorsport was inappropriate, because both cars went off-track," Stella told Sky Sports F1. "So both cars gained an advantage. It's a shame because it costs us a podium. It costs us a race where we stay patient. After we were pushed off in the first lap, first corner, we accepted it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Andrea Stella, Team Principal, McLaren F1 Team Photo by: Sam Bloxham / Motorsport Images "Having said that, very clearly our position – this kind of decision by the stewards cannot be appealed. For us, the chapter is now closed and we move on to the next race." Asked if there was any possibility that Norris could have returned the position, Stella felt that there was no need, stating that "we double checked that both cars went off track. For us, there was no doubt that the manoeuvre was correct." Norris said that the time it took the stewards to make the decision to hand him a five-second penalty must have meant that it was a borderline call. He also brought up that Verstappen's first-lap move, which also saw both drivers go off-track, and was allowed to stand - while his challenge for third was not. "It's impossible to know [if the team asking him to give the place back would have worked out], the stewards obviously can't make their minds up for a few laps, so it's not an easy decision, or it would have come a bit sooner," Norris told Sky Sports F1. "I tried. He also went off the track, a few metres off the track, so clearly went in too hard, and also getting an advantage by doing what he did. But I don't make the rules. I was pretty tight, obviously Max went for a tight gap. From inside the car it's obviously harder to say on some things and also easier to say on some things. "He obviously committed quite a bit, which he's got the right to do, but again, he went completely off the track, so I need to look back at it. "He defends by going off-track, he overtakes by going off-track. But I'm not going to complain. Max drove well and he defended well, we had a good race together. But the rules are the rules."
Late to the party, but what a fantastic drive from Leclerc! For once he got some luck and kept his focus. He seemed in total control the whole race. Seems Ferrari have finally gotten on top of their car, and have a package as fast as McLaren. Good top speed, and wicked under the braking zones. They were smart to have learned their lesson on bringing new spec parts too soon, while McLaren and Mercedes fell into that trap this weekend, and paid the price. Red Bull also seem to have found some speed. I don't see Norris winning the title without a miracle.
Fred Vasseur was really calm and collected after the race speaking to French television. Talking already about Mexico and altitude parameters.. What a difference with Binotto who said this week Audi will win till 2030..
This is true. It’s also bad for the sport. In effect, what this is saying is, if you are defending your position, you are more than welcome to run your opponent off the track, even if you go off too. Thats just wrong. As the defender of the position, you have the obligation to make the corner too otherwise both drivers are equally guilty of going off and whoever ends up in front should be fine. Max does this all the time. It’s how he defends and the rules encourage it. Ridiculous.
Brundle said the same on SKY during the broadcast. The rules are there and allow you to run someone off the track to defend. The Stewards use the rules they are forced to apply. Maybe they can be addressed in the winter.
Which is weird is that Leclerc said yesterday after the race that the car was even better for the sprint race compared with the GP. Speaks volume about the importance of track positions and Qualy.

The FIA changed the rules for overtaking to what it is now, all of us with half a brain immediately said that this would set the precedent. Can't blame Max for using the rules to his own advantage. I don't agree with this type of racing but it's the dumb ass F FIA that wrote it like this that are to blame. Mclaren equally as dumb for saying to Norris that he was ahead at the apex. Either they don't know what the apex is or they're just gaslighting him; had they told him to give up the position he'd have had 5 more laps to overtake him. He had the tire advantage, the faster car and DRS. Change the rules back to leaving a cars width at any time, remove more of the parking lot run offs will solve this issue. And don't give drivers 1.5 meters of run off. Have a f'ing gravel trap immediately after the kerb.
