I love my Giallo Modena Portofino, but I'm considering changing to black wheels. The car is yellow, the interior is black/yellow, the accents are black, but the wheels are so....gray. Should I get black wheels, or would that be too much Bumblebee?

I personally think the black wheel thing is played out, and it creates a definition-less hole where the tires are.

Do you have anyone in your local Ferrari club with black wheels? If so - perhaps you could swap a couple, in his driveway, to see how they look.

Never been a fan of black wheels ... I do like that the paint matches the calipers and hubcaps, but it makes me slightly crazy that the shields are a lighter yellow. Carbon shields would look really nice on there. I have a set of those shields (with matching hubcaps) but they are for the Cali T. Maybe a shinier silver or the machined aluminum rims.

I ordered black rims on my latest red car (we ordered a Pacifica for our in-laws). I actually think black rims on the yellow car would look pretty good.

I do enjoy the rims on my Porotifno M. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Thanks for the comments and especially the Photoshop fredv, I'm leaning yes. It also bugs me that the shields are a lighter yellow, I may get the CF shields as well.

All subjective of course but depends on the color for me. Red or blue I'd say no. Yellow or White I'd say yes. So in your case I would say 100% yes because the gray doesn't go with anything else on the car.

With the yellow body color and yellow calipers, I think it looks nice with the black wheels.

Are you thinking glass or flat black? Just got the black wheels on my Guard Red 911 refinished gloss black.
    Previously it was flat black.
    They look so nice!

Definitely a personal choice, for me only a white car looks good with black wheels. Love the yellow!

I'm thinking gloss black, not a fan of the matte trend in cars, makes me think of my youth when guys drove cars in primer when they ran out of money or time for paint.
Love the white and black DocJLS!
