Has anyone successfully retro fitted the carbon bucket seat lifter pump to a carbon bucket with the static seat frame? I know Hill Engineering offers the spacers but to be able to fine tune on the fly would be nice.
    PIC is an example

I would imagine it would be very costly to purchase given that it was a $2K option from new.

When I was shopping for my Pista a couple years ago, I was asking your exact question. At the time, I could not find anyone who had successfully retrofitted. IIRC when I asked dealers, it was not a separate part that you could buy, you had to purchase the entire seat.

I had a couple friends who owned cars with the racing seat lifter and they said it was used a handful of times. Once they set their seat, they didn't touch it again.

Furthermore, due to its design and how people adjust their seat, the handle tends to crack in what seems to be at least half the cars it is installed in. The dealer I bought my Pista from walked me out on their showroom and 4 out of the 6 cars had cracked lifter handles.

I thought the seat lifter was going to be a deal breaker but when I found my spec, the dealer purchased and installed the HE spacers for both driver and passenger seats as part of the deal.

All that to say, I think you'll be very content with the HE spacers.

Why don't you sell your lifter to these small fries?

I actually track my cars and it helps get my 5'9" short ass up to see the wheel arches better. And you cam fine tune for helmet room, etc. Don't know why having adjustment over no adjustment is a bad thing....

I was just teasing you guys. The only way I can wear a helmet is if I tilt my head a little and my dome is still smooshed against the roof. Probably not safe.
