    Hi,

I've been looking for a Speciale for the last 18 months, with many ups and downs...

I found a new one for sale this week which matches 95% the external spec that I want BUT... I just don't know if I could live with the interior :-(

I also don't think a re-trim is the right thing to do, to a Speciale? Maybe changing the seats and the steering wheel to black would significantly help?

See for me that interior is awesome.. it's an exotic car...loud as it it's looks with a special interior that screams excitement. I love it!

Correct a re-trim would kill value and the special status that the 458 Speciale has....or for any Ferrari.

Thank you. I am not concerned about it impacting the value of the car, as it would be a 'keeper'... but I hate the idea of changing the spec of a car that came from factory (yes... I'm one of those annoying purist people :)

Just Change the seats and that should work. Go with OEM seats and you are not really changing the spec, per se.

If you don't like it, don't buy it.

At this price point, you shouldn't have to settle for anything.

    Agree.

    That interior is revolting.

Not sure what interior you're after, but that exterior spec is very common on speciales, so one which also had an interior you like will probably come up eventually

Not a fan of the Dracula's coffin spec interior.

I also thought that red on red is very weird. However, I can tell you that in my case, I bought a red on red. When I first saw it, I didn't like it in pictures too much. But it definitely grew on me, and I'm actually to the point that I love it! My wife typically hates red interiors, and she even thought that my spec looks great.
The only questionable part about the spec of the car you are looking at, is the red top of the dashboard, because I would be concerned with reflections. And maybe the red carpet may also be too much. The only thing I can say is that it may present very differently in pictures as compared to in person. I'm willing to bet that in person, it will look much better. I know that mine does, I still don't like it that much in photos, lol (look at my photos, and you will see what I mean. The red interior takes on a weird color tone that doesn't match). And if you like it, it will grow on you even more because it is not the norm, and it's unique.

That interior is perfect for what the Speciale ethos is IMO

I would not re-trim or deviate away from factory spec as a OEM purist like yourself but also for future value should you decide to move on from the car which does happen more than you'd think

Oh no it's not Dracula's coffin, more of a French whore house.... ;-) Love it...it's exotic, loud, stunning, sticking and young feeling.

It's a special car, a loud interior isn't really out of place on it. But that being said I wouldn't "settle" when spending that much.

I’m fairly conservative but some of my special cars are pretty wild inside and I appreciate others expressions also. Snakeskin galore in one of my pro touring cars.... it’s cool.

A Speciale is a wild car for sure and could stand to be reflected in the interior spec.

If I had one special car, it would be a conservative spec.

black seats would help and be easy to reverse.

    agree black wheel
    would also help a lot.

the red on red on red feels like a caricature of a ferrari but it does appear to be in dubai so, perhaps i simply can’t grasp the majesty in region

imho, yours look dramatically better because it has black upper, black carpet, and black detailing on the seats. the exterior roof in black further breaks up the monotony.

i like risky specs. i applaud the daring. i drove a green/carbon on green/black mclaren.

but the all red just feels cartoonish or lazy

I have electric blue Alcantara in my interior. I think it's balanced just right because anymore would be too much.

i dig the blue again, there’s contrast. it’s not one solid color top to bottom.

this was my 600lt (still very heartbroken about whole thing, hurts to post).

    i’m def down for bold!

i get a headache looking at it but maybe you'll adjust. you can always buy it and mod it later. however, for that type of coin get what you really want. don't settle.

Unexpected combos that are bold but classy are prob my favourite specs (like Cigarzmans pista).

This one is certainly bold ... not sure about the second term though.
In the UAE it's not that bold however, specs very shocking to my eyes are quite common there. It's a different background compared to a conservative Europe, for what I feel.
