A local 328 owner is having a hard time sourcing this mirror switch. This part is outside my vintage world. I recall these switches hard to find 15 years ago.

Is there a good repro or someone that fixes these switches? Previous thread that could shed some insite

    Thank you in advance

Tom, Maranello Classics has them but for a lot of money. They are getting them somewhere. Just don't know where.
You can try sending his to O.D.D.Parts in Sonoma.

If it crosses to something my bet is Fiat or BMW.

Chances are Maranello Classic parts are having the mirror switches made under an exclusive contract, which prevents them being found elsewhere, hence the price:

    https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/part/ferrari/61803100-a

    £614.76 / $797 with tax

Eurospares.co.uk have the original version of the switch in stock for £371.70 / $483 with tax : https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Parts/61803100/Eurospares

Ferrari used BMW mirror switches in the 328 so you might have better luck finding the actual BMW part number. I have never looked, but it's possible the original BMW part number is printed on the backside of the switch.

The switch on my 328 worked fine, but the joystick knob was missing. I found a period-correct BMW mirror switch on eBay and stole the knob from it to use on the 328. Looks great. This is the switch I purchased:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/155037383229

The housing is not a direct match for the 328, but the guts and knobs appear to be. At the very least, this might give you some ideas. I am sure you can find one of the switches out there or make something work. I would definitely not overpay a Ferrari parts gouger for this since it was a very basic BMW part to begin with.

Forgot to ask, what is wrong with the original mirror switch?

The switch shown on your site is the BMW/Ferrari 308/Mondial switch:

    Ferrari 328 switch: https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/part/ferrari/61803100-a
    Ferrari Mondial switch: https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/part/ferrari/61063200?id=52635
    BMW switch: https://www.bimmerworld.com/BMW-Interior/Switches-Knobs/Power-Mirror-Switch-BMW-E21-E12-E28-E24-E23-E26-M1-Z1.html

The BMW/Ferrari 308/Mondial switch is not the same switch as the 328 switch, and the knob part is not the same design as the 328 knob, so does it need modifying to fit the 328 switch?

I stand corrected. Do you have your old broken one? We would happily reproduce it for you. As long as there is enough to get the measurements correct of course.
