As the principal driver Im not sure I appreciate the need for a passenger touch screen.

What is wrong with having your passenger remain a passenger who just goes along for the ride or else is quietly tapping away at her iPhone.

Is it me , or is it distracting, annoying , and perhaps even unsafe when the passenger is entering into your peripheral line of sight , leaning forward trying to operate the touch screen which lies 3 inches beyond her reach.

Switching the music after a few seconds of each song and then asking questions of you like "How fast is 6,000 RPM?

I agree. It is an expensive a_s option that is pointless with the central touchscreen. I think the only reason people will order it is because of fear regarding how not having one might be viewed for resale. Over $6K for the option. Ridiculous! The passenger touchscreen was standard in my Purosangue.

Got it in the 812 GTS. Passed on it for the 12C. How many screens does one need. I think screens make cars look dated. Prefer the lack of screens on the previous models. Also as mentioned more expensive in terms of undesired acoustic (passenger) feedback than $. Lol ;)

I assumed it was mandatory/standard at this point. Very glad it's still an option. I will pass as I did on my RS for all the reasons mentioned above.

Truth to be said I opted for it because the dash looks ridiculous to my eyes if there would be nothing in the cutout for the passenger display

The passenger screen in my 296 is completely useless and has not been used by anyone so far. I am gonna save some weight here :)

Passenger screen is categorically useless and a fascinating piece of unneeded design.

What’s interesting is my dealer told me last week (while building my PS) that passenger screen is now standard on the 296 and PS…odd that’s it not on the 12 cylinder. (They all clearly called it that and not the 12 c ;) ) I guess there is a center one in the 12c

I 100% disagree with the previous comments. I rally extensively and have had passenger displays in my FF and Lusso and my wife and navigator has enjoyed and benefited from the display. I recently spent a weekend in a Purosangue as both a passenger and driver and loved the passenger display when I was not operating the controls. The new version allows much more access to the sound and comfort as well as just information, allowing the passenger to handle onboard duties letting the driver concentrate on the driving stuff. It was absolutely a must when I spec-ed my 12 Cilindri

Interesting, I just drove around with my wife in my 296 today and she said the screen is totally useless for her :)
Anyway, good to have both options.

Totally useless on my cars that have it, so I'd love to have an excuse to not spec it. I just worry that it'll look very obvious that an option was not selected with the matte black plastic piece replacing the display. Like a blank button on the center console of a base car (RIP buttons - we miss you).

Given what the MSRP of these cars are, I just don't want to feel like I cheaped out.

It is ridiculous that the passenger screen is not standard like on the PS and 296. I agree regarding the potential odd appearance of not having the screen given the dual cockpit nature of the car's dash design.

I assume there would be a leather piece in its place. If it's just plastic I agree that's a bad look.

In the Roma, it's matte black plastic. No obvious lines, so it's not like they just put a blank in the same bezel, but it definitely isn't a high-end looking piece.

Definitely need the screen for the passengers.

The center screen is what the passenger would operate to adjust radio and temperature settings
But if she has a smart phone then she should be able to play her music or else the Sirius radio station

I think passenger display is optional on the cars with a center screen (12Ci, Roma), and standard on the cars that don't (SF90, 296, PS).

All the functionality of the passenger display is covered by the center screen, so it's purely for cosmetics/novelty. Which makes the ~$6k option price a pretty tough ask.

Glad you like it. Could you qualify what exactly the passenger is able to see with the screen in front of them that they can’t see by turning their head to the left to look at what you see? Or what they are manipulating that isn’t possible easily? The redundancy seems unbelievably cluttered and lacking elegance or necessity.

I doubt the passenger screen will add to the resale value of the car. It (the screen not the car)will probably depreciate in resale value to about $100 a year after purchase.

$100 a year depreciation is not an impressive argument while talking about a half million dollar car

I think you misunderstood my post . This $6000 option will be worth about $100 in resale value after a year of ownership-that is a depreciation $5900 or about 98%. some options add value- this one doesn’t IMHO

    Got it!
I don‘t think you can calculate the resale value of a single specific option.
In terms of the passenger screen there will be some people who won’t buy the used car because there is no screen but there will be none not buying it because there is a screen.
    Just my 2 cents.
