I've got to go through this process at some point or just buy something that someone else labored for. I know it's a big effort, looks like you are about there.
Fantastic place! We may have to plan a trip out there just so we can drive by! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I've never built anything like this, I can't even imagine. I do know that there are 2 things common to every construction project, 1) never on time 2) never on budget. I build a lot of commercial projects annually but very different to a customer home.
Sorry to hear that. But the age old wisdom applies here as well; and I'm sure EVERYONE keeps saying it "it'll all be worth it in the end " and "you'll quickly forget all the hardship once you start living there". I will never forget my 8 year time frame of remoddeling my house. All the negatives have slipped to the back of my mind.... but that doesn't mean I'll ever forget them. In the end it did reenforce the appreciation of my house. I'm sure you'll have a similar experience come 12-18 months from now.
Electricity was turned on today. Water gets turned on tomorrow. There will be an army onsite this week to make massive progress. Next week I head to Vegas for a conference. When we get back- should be close. Very close. I can ****ing taste it!
Should get CO next week. They have a bit of drywall repair to do on the ceiling of the great room and my final coating on the rec/room garage needs to go in but other than that fairly complete. the only issue is that Im going to Thailand for 10 days week after next. lol. Perfect timing. Wait 3 years and as we are ready to move in - have a trip that we planned last year coming up. Super tempted to cancel but plan is to take that time while we are out and get all the punch list stuff done so when we come back, movers are there the next day ready to rock and roll. All furniture is ordered and waiting on delivery All AV is complete- speakers sound awesome Driveway and landscaping should be wrapped up end of next week Electrical/plumbing etc all done Golf sim in Racing sim getting installed next week Sauna complete It all seems a bit anti climactic. lol time to sell and move on.
Garage flooring finally in. If you look closely- you can see the lights for the pickleball court. Moving trucks coming in 2 weeks. I’m overseas till next week. Home stretch!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sitting on a plane flaying back from Thailand and you gotta love technology as I’ve been texting with my builder for the last hour: Thursday the city is coming for final inspection and we are hopeful - god willing - to have our certificate of occupancy by the end of the week- hopefully Thursday! 3 sets of moving trucks are coming Monday to Wednesday. I can’t believe it. After 3 years of construction and 3.5 years since we sold our house- the light at the end of the tunnel. I owe you guys some pictures in the next few days when I finally return.

Damn, you have to take an elevator to get to the ‘main closet’? What does the journey to the “second closet” entail? Tram service? Gondola on the canals? Rich people problems! Seriously - beautiful home, thanks for sharing with us and I look forward to the pictures of the finished garage with cars in situ!
Was supposed to get final Certificate of Occupancy last week. And ofcourse some ******* government inspector decided that we needed to add more plants around the property. Fought it- no dice. Spent 20k more on landscaping and for approval. After the hillside approval comes building approval and ofcourse the other dumbass inspector decides to go on vacation. final approval expected Monday. Remaining furniture being delivered Wed. Already had couple truck loads deliver. comingnto an end. Will grab more pics soon.
Ty my friend. It’s been trying. Took longer and cost more than we expected. But glad to be in the bottom of the 9th inning, it’s 4th and 1 and we are ready to score that 3 pointer for the win.
