Sales tax credit is a component to consider for many as well depending on where you live. If you sell a vehicle outright you virtually light your tax dollars on fire and have to pay the full sales price on the next one. If you trade for another unit, you pay the delta between to the two prices in tax here in AL.
That’s how tax works on trade-ins in Colorado. Then we moved to California. Here, when you trade-in, you pay tax on the full purchase price. Ouch!
I’m certain you know this, but asking prices mean nothing. The only thing that matters is closing price and I would submit that since nothing is moving, $100k below MSRP is a good starting point.
you are missing the point, if a dealer who knows the market better than anyone is at $100k off MSRP wholesale, then retail is higher that that. it might not be next month, but it was when they made that offer.
You’re correct, retail is higher than that, assuming he wants to wait and is willing to take the risk the market doesn’t continue to fall.
Halo cars (e.g. La Ferrari and 80 )have always set the direction and drawn from racing , just as Enzo did . Ferrari have won the last two Le Mans with hybrids . Whilst I understand your longing for the ‘good ole days’ in a technology driven business , like automobiles, hybrids seem to be the path to the future. You can always keep a 488 to have the last of the mid engine pure ICE cars. As far as controls are concerned they are already making changes to the haptics after customer feedback.
296 epic on a track not so much for the street. a lemans race car would also be a lousy road car. 458, 812, f8 all fun on the road hybrids feel artificial unless you push them on a track where your at there limits
f1 also is not like the good old days lets get serious. the exhaust sound is killed so you can get transitioned to a ev
I have been to two races in the last year and yes there is not the thumping vibration you used to get . The cars however still sound amazing and you no longer need ear plugs in the stands , in the pits it is advisable
Has nothing to do with good ole days, hybrid technology is a stop gap. There will be more advanced tech coming forward, hybrid is not the future.
No crystal ball but I do believe alternative fuels will become prevalent and electric cars will be more efficient and lighter through the use of capacitors vs batteries. Personally, I don't mind the hybrid approach if the weight was reduced. You get efficiency and sound.
