I prefer the ZR1 approach. The new EU legislations limiting db is killing even the hybrid set ups. New F80 sounds awful. It may as well be electric.

How are other manufacturers dealing with the dB legislation? The Reveulto is still loud where the 12Ci doesn't seem to be - what did they do differently?

It won’t pass until the inventory overhang starts clearing and that won’t happen until sellers start accepting low bids.

GTB production is about done, but there is definitely 12 months+ of used inventory sitting out there. And I'm not sure the VS makes it any better, once those start to arrive (18 months at most?) you'll have people selling their GTB/GTS that they have to hold until the VS arrives (most likely, guessing from how the SF90XX requirement went). And as the GTS's trickle in, you still have some GTB's that will come up for sale.

It's a weird market, the 296 is a freaking blast to drive, sounds great, fast as heck, etc. But there are question marks AND I think the market has proven there is a lack of enthusiasm for hybrid/V6/the new world order of super high pricing.

You agree that 296GTB with high mileage have price similar to older F8 cars?

Agreed. I have worked in automotive manufacturing corridor my whole life and there is a lot of emerging tech being deployed for large scale manufacturing now that will change the narrative.

The booth I am tethered to next week at SEMA is one of these technologies. I am anxiously awaiting debuting the stuff.

Define high mileage? My 2024 has 1784 miles on it because I drove it a lot. For a Toyota that is low miles or new. In the Exotic space that is 1-2 years worth of miles.

The power to weight ratio of the 296 is better than the 488 Pista . They have already looked at making up for the extra 80 Kg between the two

By 2027 they hope to produce 550 million litres of fuel . Germany alone uses 27 million litres of Gasoline per day . So in 21 days it is gone.

E fuels unfortunately may not reach the commercial viability needed to be used freely

I had a deposit on a GTS but pulled it after I test drove it. At 6’-3” I had a difficult time getting into it and a near impossible time getting out. And while everyone thinks the car is fantastic to drive, I thought the user interface was terrible which really affected my perception of how it drives.

I agree! But patience for owners with good specs will be rewarded. Enjoy the car!

That's fine in a straight line but not great For more spirited driving. The Pista is one of my favorites but it's a bit fat .

And if you complain about it, they'll make you buy a McLaren 12C.

I'm 6-4 and it's really no different than my F8....neither car is exactly a breeze, but that comes with the territory of things that are low to the ground.

The user interface takes some getting used to for sure. I don't love it, but (most) buyers of modern cars seem to want all this stuff. After a couple dozen drives it becomes second nature, kinda silly to let that affect your feelings of how the car performs.

You are correct about this, I know of a car that just got sold through a dealership, 5400 mile car 2023 296 GTB with a $458k MSRP and sold for $370k.

Checking mobile.de (big web site for used cars in Europe), it seems that also here the prices are very similar between F8 and 296; of course the latest 296 are more expensive, but the less expensive cars are more or less aligned with F8.
These are advertised prices though, there might be a distorsion with actual selling prices in the sense that more 296 sellers are really wanting to sell (afraid by the market trend) while F8 sellers, having an (even slightly) older car that they did not buy to flip, are able to wait longer for a sale (or are even ready to keep the car) and are not so inclined in "discounting" their price.
An indication could be given by the age of the ads (which I did not investigate) - if the 296 stay for shorter times, the asked prices are closer to the market price.

so market prefer powerful V8 without all hybrid staff, I think both cars looks good, but for most regular people F8 is prettier far than 296
