Someone has to stick up for the Stroller I guess. Still struggling to understand why though. Maybe I can’t talk because I still hope against hope that Ferrari will bring a championship. Then again, AM has NO chance of that with stroller in the seat and at least Ferrari has history on their side.

Shrug, maybe they're nepo babies as well and trying to justify it as a positive thing, some kind of weird denial? Dunno, but it's pretty clear he doesn't belong in F1 at this point.

Lance has little to do with whether AM wins the the WDC or not. It's all about a car that is midfield at this point. If Alonso can't even compete in the WDC you know it is the car.

Lance is and has always been a seat warmer. I don’t think he could compete for a WDC even with a Newey designed car.

Stroll is a shoe-in for “most ignored by the F1 press” Canadian—or any other nationality—driver. Nobody cares or writes about him. F1 reject Sargeant has more exposure.

Despite this thread, no one really cares about Lance.

I wouldn't expect him to compete for a WDC either but I can see him getting a few podiums. I compare him in that regard to this year's version of Checko.

How does one really f*** it up 2x on the formation lap only to be out of the race on the 2nd time?....and he's got 8 years in F1.

What a sorry excuse for an F1 driver after todays (Interlagos) race. No one was around him.....and some here say he's exceptional in the wet!!!

Without question, the most useless driver on the grid. Absolutely no one will miss him when he’s gone. He should prosecuted for stealing an F1 seat from any number of more worthy drivers.

The car is crap. Alonso slid off with it as well and Alonso is a master in the wet.

Heck even the great Michael Schumacher crashed once in a formation lap. In the dry.

Lance is doing well in the mixed conditions (neither dry nor full rain). Remember he got pole in Turkey in such conditions?

The haters cup fillleth over today even though more than one golden boy had an off including Colapinto who stuffed it under yellow. Not to mention Sainz and Alonso both of which had two accidents today. Of course those facts are lost especially when you’re busy throwing rocks in a glass house.

So true. It was a lottery in the rain today and many great names lost it. It happens.

A good friend of mine is unfortunately one of the haters. But today I benefitted greatly from it: His comments about Lance's out got me to turn on the TV where I saw the race just started. My TV guide had the wrong time listed as in 90 minutes after the actual start. So I got lucky.

    1) On a formation lap to mess up 2x to get the car back on the track?

    2) Schumacher and Lance do not belong in the same sentence for this egregious act(s)[thats plural btw since Lance cocked it up 2x on the formation lap).

    3) Alonso did the race for the mechanics because he was in pain due to his back....I'm sure Alonso, given his age had enough due to the back pain and it got the better of him.

Impossible to defend Stroll for today. Couldn't even do a spin turn and drives an F1 car onto thick gravel trap. Then says it was the brakes fault.

    He is a total embarrassment.

I like Stroll; he does far better than I would have ever done.
Also, AFAIK, he keeps himself to himself and never criticises other drivers, nor engages in polemics.
Modest and understated, that attitude I like in a sportman.

Have you seen the full video?

He went off, had ACRES of pavement and asphalt to drive over to rejoin the grid, but deliberately and consciously chose to drive through the gravel trap, notable for being designed to STOP Formula 1 cars from proceeding through them.

He needs to tell his dad it's time for a new hobby.

Well, kinda hard for him to be in a position to criticize anyone given his career performance, don’t you think?

Let’s consider Strolls career to date vs his team mate - the true test of a drivers performance:-

    2024 (to date) - Alonso 62, Stroll 24 - 38%
    2023 - Alonso 206, Stroll 74 - 36%
    2022 - Vettel 37, Stroll 18 - 49%
    2021 - Vettel 43, Stroll 34 - 79%
    2020 - Perez 125, Stroll 75 - 60%
    2019 - Perez 52, Stroll 21 - 40%
    2018 - Stroll 6, Sirotkin 1 - 600%
    2017 - Massa 43, Stroll 40 - 93%

On a purely factual basis, he has been consistent. As in, consistently useless. And his points ratio vs his team mate is getting worse over time.

No other driver on the grid today has a worse performance rating vs their team mate. I doubt many, in the history of the sport, have been so consistently bad and yet kept their seat (all thanks to daddy of course).

    He has to go.
