This very much looks like the real one. Look very closely at the nose, the paint. Owners of major historic racing cars make tool room copies so that the real ones don't get damaged on track but use the real ones for shows and concours.
if the 0872 than it does have the full replica body fitted i have seen replica classic Fs on major shows around the globe presented as “original”…
Let's not forget that the owner raced -via guest drivers- the real one for years before commissioning the creation of the tool room replica.. Bigdino if you refer to the yellow loop sticking out of the naca duct that is not a tow hook. It is the ignition cut off or fire extinguisher pull lever for Marshalls in case of accident.
I first saw it in spider configuration (I think in 2007). Later it got the berlinetta bodywork (2008?) Do you know if that was the tool room copy? I'll have to look at my pictures if I can spot any details that give away which is which. Thanks. So because the real car was raced as well, by this detail we won't be able to identify it as real or not. I will be going through all my pictures of this 312P. Not a chore as it is one of my favorite Ferraris! When I first saw one (in Bardinon's collection) I couldn't believe how low and cramped it was!
Hi Tom, thanks for your pictures I have seen this car during the FM 2009 in Valencia (Spain). It had two exterior mirrors and on the front bonnet a socket to pull the vehicle in case of assistance. Some pictures : https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/finali-mondiali-2009.264201/
