The interior is the minimalist Apple Shop stuff I really hate.

The exterior is ok, but I wonder when the black roof & glass fad will finally pass.

What is that, a hail Mary. Get rid of the designs that are selling as VW goes down the toilet.

 

I say this is a fail from a design AND identity perspective. J Mays, myself and others fought for those rings as the primary brand identity. While others are looking for their identity and pursue a premium image, Audi had those powerful and simple rings. A true shame IMO…Hey! What do we know?

 

Its a clean design and if made just as is, would cost $80k+ here.
Good design in western countries costs a high premium and is made to self destruct after several years... this Audi is packaged to compete in the Chinese market and will probably cost 1/3 the price.
For all we know this identity change is so that westerners dont question why or how premium Audi's will be so much cheaper there.

 

If that’s the case why not just plain brand it? Exterior styling looks bland, derivative and generic. Truly boring. The C-Pillar graphic is so over-used.

 

Welp, we keep saying design shouldnt be stuck in the past. Will I miss the four rings? Of course as Im a traditionalist.

But in reality I bet this helps the brand as younger generations will like this move. Young people dont want their parents music, movies, or their cars.

They want their own thing.

I want to feel cocooned in my car. The dashboard and doors should wrap around me like a comfortable suit. I don't want that modern minimalist ******** where the focus is a ****ing tablet.

Agreed. That interior is terrible. The Tesla interiors is the main reason ill never own one. Horrible. Like sitting in a refrigerator.

 

Yeah its a bit bland for me. But I think it will appeal to younger buyers

 

Yeah I mean some people dig it, but i cant do it. I need a warm comforting interior

 

The Lucid's interior is decent but the Lyriq's is better.

The Audi name will give Chinese consumers a level of confidence for the components/machinery. I personally really love the Avatr 12 design (also see the rear)... this new concept could be western powers trying to take away sales from it by copying some of its styling elements.
