Hey all, my 175A Megafuse (CAL 5) on the fuse box on top of the battery blew.. henceforth, car wouldnt start.
    Replaced it, works fine.

No CLUE why it blew in the first place.

Anyone else have this issue? Any source as in why it may have blown to begin with?

I think the OP is referring to 278366. It's in that battery cover box thing.

Actually it’s the one in the left of that but yes that’s correct.

Fuses TEND not to blow for no reason. The arrangement makes it difficult to put a clamp on ammeter on the battery wire. It's been awhile since I've looked at my 458 battery, but maybe the negative side has something a clamp on probe would work on. A starter motor can certainly draw a lot of power. Do you know the complete history of your car? No accidents? Hopefully someone from the Ferrari Chat brain trust chimes in, but this should be further investigated. Did your fuse BLOW or did it just open. Is there evidence that it got really hot?

That’s the confusing part, it’s not like melted plastic or anything, but the car wouldn’t start (all power came on) put an ohm meter on the fuse and it was the culprit …
Don’t see any bare leads offhand, but the trace is obviously limited to what I can physically see.

Perhaps maybe the starter is failing, but the car seems to fire up no issues… so I didn’t know if someone else ever had an issue and maybe there was an area to possibly focus on..

    it’s a strange one

I have the same issue. Where did you find a replacement fuse? My local dealer says they don't carry them?

I have seen complaints about blowing this same big fuse in other threads, all in combination with these lipo carbatteries

Hey I know this is a very old thread, but the same Cal5 fuse blew on my 458 spider with an interstate AGM battery. How did you determine it was a 175amps? There are no markings on mine and online parts lookup has no specs.
