I would agree with the confusion where the more expensive model doesn’t deliver for the driver as well as the cheaper v6 version - not that the v6 is all that cheap as both versions are well and truly overpriced - the lacklustre performance of the secondary market now serving as evidence of that. I think Ferrari really finished up well overall (financially) virtually doubling the price of sf90 for the xx whilst offering pretty much the same car, less a few things, adding a better restyle to what was previously a highly criticised car overall. 296 otoh came out of the blocks recieving an overall superior reception from the general masses and i suspect much the same will occur with the VS. I think those lucky enough to be offered the xx won’t be disappointed as its a sharp looking car with thrills to match even though the price tag is eye watering and unlikely to return gains in the long run. The same will probably happen to 296sv once the short term fuss dies down and the secondary market evaluates the car for what it is.
From 5:10 and, 8:50, some interesting thoughts. Nice car but for me the 296 makes better sense overall. Vs should step that game on.
that is a good video. Lets hope the 296VS isn't also a money grab car. Anyone have a 765LT? Curious what that car is all about.
Fantastic video. Partly for the candor, which is all too rare in automotive journalism these days. TBC, I think the SF90XX is freaking awesome (full disclosure: I have not driven it). And I get the appeal of the spider, even though it is obviously a compromise that some of us (myself included) might not choose. So I'm less critical of Ferrari's decision to make the car. But I think it was a great discussion of the sorts of questions on my mind.
working on my 765LT education....need to drive one and understand more about the overall Mc ownership experience. I wonder if the reliability aspect is over blown etc
Well, if you like driving like this: Personally, I don't really mind; it reminds me of my tank commander days, suchlike: Image Unavailable, Please Login Somewhat, I doubt that the F80 clientele would embrace such a dress code though...
Id say most likely it will be given the direction Ferrari pricing has since taken. It appears Ferrari has sought to knock out the Flippers by taking any future earnings for themselves, but in that process has left the new buyer to pick up the tab at both ends of the stick. I think buying these new Ferrari’s, vs’s xx’s etc is a case where the buyer is extremely unlikely to see any profit out of the deal anytime into the future. Depreciation should be less than the regular production version ( if that’s any consolation).
I have one. Favorite car I’ve owned by far. Reliability has been a non issue for me. Pm if you want more info-
Other than a number of niggly issues to begin with, mine has been solid mechanically and electronically. The intial issues ( build related) do appear to reflect QC problems at factory end unfortunately, but i wouldn’t let it put you off getting into one as these types of issues can be dealt with at dealer end. I would rate 765’s driving experience above and beyond anything ive owned or driven out of Ferrari to date and they make great cars as you know. Always welcome to pm me for the nitty gritty. Ferrari really should pay attention to customer concerns as there are many great alternatives nowadays - although so far that doesn’t seem to bother them unfortunately.

I heard recentl;y from a very well informed source there have been talks about a "Piloti" edition for the 296VS as well. Pretty wel confirmed talks. So far that source has never failed me for reliable info. No other details have been shared but to expect similar or even stronger criteria to get approved for one (aka own a 296 Challenge).
no aero yet. they're just getting started. 296 Piloti. that sounds cool when you say it. so does sub 6:35 ring time.
If you pause the video and look closely, you can also see two lip spoilers at either side of the rear deck.
Piloti will be a riot. Wish I had picked up a pista piloti when I was eyeing one at $500k over a $359-400 pista market but seemed so silly for a “sticker” livery. +$500k later I’m kicking myself.
