I know this criteria is different today. For example, for the SF90XX you have to have an SF90 in the garage when your XX arrives. But this was the 488 Pista selection criteria. Might give a little insight. Image Unavailable, Please Login
My guess is they will stagger coupe vs GTS by 6-12mo if neither are numbered in anyway which I don’t expect. I was under the impression that while that was likely the initial criteria, they opened it up pretty broadly to accept most people who wanted one. Anyone go through that experience?
Based on being one of the most limited of models of the past decade. One was sold in Japan for $990. and 2 were sold in mainland EU for €750k that I know of.
I do hope it's like the Pista aka the 296VS looks like the Challenge/GT3 car. Mine always receives a ton of love when I drive it.
Guys now ordering 296 tells me that you will need one to order XX. More than a few VIP's learned - no SF90 / no SF90XX Interesting to see how they play the 296 - track version.
Is there any other car company that requires to have an almost exact version of the same car before buying another one? I think the sooner we all free ourselves from the Stockholm syndrome the better. I’m voting with my feet and will buy cars used when they are much cheaper.

Pretty much every luxury goods priced below clearing prices requires prior relationship and $$ spent to be eligible. That said not sure if I feel like taking a £100k bath on my current car for the 296VS, and one single new 296 purchase may not be eligible for the car anyways. If I wanted to change my car this often, would have went used and saved high 5 figures.
More clickbait..... The first link was in the VS thread a week ago for example and I'm fairly sure the second even before that
not to mention the fact that the VS might be overpriced and over overproduced. Spoke with a friend who has been in the Ferrari game decades. He is a VIP and can get whatever he wants. He sold his Ferraris because he felt the competing cars offered the same if not more of what he desires. He then went on to mention that if Ferrari's lose value and their cars aren't 10000x more desirable vs the competition he won't go back to Ferrari. For some, not losing money on a Ferrari is a big aspect of playing (and being abused by) the Ferrari game.
Or we could say the 296 is best Ferrari I’ve ever driven and maybe the best overall car and if the VS is an improvement and I can spec one, that’s even better.
The pista doesn't look like a challenge car but it certainly one of the best looking Ferraris ever IMO.
Same, I specifically like the back of the 296 challenge, if the VS looks like that I’ll likely buy the bumper off Eurospares and fit to my car. £4.5k + vat + painting cost for a regular 296 bumper. Looked into the challenge bumper but won’t fit without major mods.
You mean like here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/my-early-296-ownership-impression.699943/
I was thinking earlier today, I wonder how much weight can’t be taken from the car by shrinking the battery capacity to say, 5 miles of range? 50 pounds? And maybe shrink or and get more room in the cabin .
I don't think they can do that - there is some European minimum range so that it counts as PHEV and is eligible for city center type things. From what I've heard.
What the! Where does this end with these bureaucrats?! Honestly, the electric mode is nice for a city or a neighborhood, but once I'm on the road, it's straight to quality. Range doesn't need to be more than a few miles. The P1 had it right.
