I just (a few minutes ago) received an e-mail from my dealer stating that they still have Puro allocations available (and specifically state V12). When they sent this out several months ago I was told they were 2026-27 deliveries. Interesting they are still struggling to fill all of these.

I think $600k specs will be $450k, still more than twice the price of a new Cayenne turbo GT and there will be hundreds on the market just like there are over 300 296s on sale today.

That’s what happens when you make too many cars and you boast of making a $180,000 profit on each car, your customers are on the other side of that $180,000 and the secondary market will not pay that premium.

This has nothing to do with the cars not being good cars. I drove a Purosangue and was extremely impressed and the 296 has its issues but objectively is also a very capable car. It’s just about making too many and pricing them too high.

The problem is greed, the relentless pressure to show earnings growth. The financial results are going to be just fine for the next couple of years and they also get some free money by jacking up the deposits. They’re going to sell 1300 F80s at least is my guess, probably for a total revenue of something like $6 billion and apparently they will all be sold, so who am I to criticize? I wouldn’t want to be paying those prices but that’s just me.

Agree with this and I'll add that I think a lot of people are backing out because of the overall car market. Guys were coming in and putting deposits on everything, thinking they'd make some money and now realized they'll probably lose money on the new car and their current car so they are backing out of their orders. Went from, we can't take more deposits to maybe we can get you an allocation.

I have a Purosangue on order, delivery this spring, and have a Porsche Cayenne Turbo (my wife's spare car), and will trade in my GTC4Lusso for the Purosangue. I will take either Ferrari any day over the Porsche! I have SottoZero snow & ice tires on the GTC4Lusso and drive it all winter in NW Ohio. And I have snows coming with the Purosangue and will drive it all winter. Granted the Porsche is far cheaper but given that you can afford it, the Ferrari is the only way to go. And if you order a Purosangue, be sure to order the extra set of wheels and tires as you cannot get them otherwise.

Sounds like a marvelous plan. I did 40,000 miles on my F12 when I commuted from CT to Manhattan and switched to snow tires during the winter. It’s great to take one car and commit to just enjoying it as much as possible.

Comparing a Cayenne Turbo GT to a Purosangue is asinine.

VW shares development costs across three brands and spreads costs against hundreds of thousands of models, of course they will be cheaper.

I wouldn’t say the comparison is asinine, it is similar size, almost exact design, similar performance and is also a luxury product and new it costs 1/3 of the price of a fully loaded PS. I think it’s the price of the PS that is asinine. I know we all have Stockholm syndrome, but let’s try and at least be honest about how ludicrous this price is for an SUV.

Porsche and Ferrari are not in the same tier of luxury. As performance / racing brands yes, but not luxury.

Patek vs. Rolex, Hermes vs. LV also make similar products and are at very different price points.

Porsche made over 300K cars in 2023, that’s 25+ years of Ferrari production. It’s not fair a comparison.

I think it's likely ferrari will up production massively in coming years and lower prices/ the exclusivity level further - that's my prediction anyway

Of course buyers compare these top SUV’s against each other, nonsense to suggest otherwise. Esp when they have similar performance envelopes ie Cayenne Turbo GT, Urus, Puro. The best car sites and talent do this for a living. Just like a gt3rs is compared to lambo and Ferrari.
Many buyers like myself prioritize the experience over badge and price.

Meh, I am unlikely to ever purchase a Hermes anything, nor LV for that matter. Patek, well that is a work of art that I might consider. But yeah, PS all the way for me. Performance, measurements aside, nothing has the V12 in as practical of a package! I’m a true sucker…. :)

  20. No one is cross-shopping a Cayenne Turbo GT to a Puro.

The Cullinan or the Bentayga, and maybe even the Aston DBX707 get cross-shopped. But not a Porsche.

Just different demographics, which is not indicative of any marque's engineering prowess.

Pulling up in your country club in a Ferrari (not matter what Ferrari) says something very different than pulling up in a Porsche (no matter what Porsche, unless it's a 918 or 959 maybe).
