With the current state of the roads a rally car might just be what you need for the trips you do!

I gave some thought to the L to R red one but anything less than 2.5 litres doesn't do it for me @ 1000 klm days.

No idea mate, but talked to a work mate this morning who talked to his Auto-elect mate down south who has worked on Hybrid Lexus before and he said you can get aftermarket lithium batteries for that model for $1500 in Aus.

After I heard that, didn't bother me that much, $1500 is alright if and when I need one.

Nope! Ex- written off! lol :eek:

Talked to the cook, she wanted it. No worries, I will do a revs check on it and then go from there.

Sorry Jonny................the car was crashed in VIC in 2018 and was written off. It was sent to QLD and and re-sold the same year.

    NOT interested anymore unfortunately.

Even though the car drove beautiful and no rattles/squeaks/knocks, I still don't want the drama of trying to re-sell this 10 year old Hybrid Lexus that has been "written off" lol

I sent him a message on Facebook and told him we loved it, but the car was involved in an accident and although it looks to have been repaired properly, I told him we will pass on it. I sent him the screen shots of the revs check also.

He said he "purchased it in 2018 and never had a problem with it. It's never been to a mechanic" lol

But it has had services, because the service sticker from a local workshop was on the windscreen and service is due at 150,000 kms.

I was very polite and thanked him, he never replied, and he took the ad down off Facebook. :(:(

Would have been nice to "own" a Lexus for a year or two lol

It's back to plan A, a 2011 Toyota Corolla that I purchased for the kids to learn to drive in a few years time lol

Or plan B.......................purchase my brothers old 2006 Chrysler 300C 5.7.

Wife wants the 300C, I want her to drive the Corolla for now.

    100%

When I'm not there to fix it, it has to be a Toyota or in this case would have been the Lexus.

I considered a Porsche or Maser etc, but if I'm not there to service/maintain or repair it, it will cost me a fortune.

After the Prado was written off, Wife needed a car asap for work and kids school runs, so she stepped into a little 2013 Ford Fiesta auto hatchback that we paid $3500 with 6 months rego in Mackay.

Even though her parents have an extra car sitting around doing nothing, she wanted her own car.

She drove that around for around 4 weeks or so, then decided she wanted a bigger car.

I found a 2006 Holden Statesman V6 in Charters Towers for sale for $3000. I hitched a ride over with a work mate who was driving to Townsville, he dropped me off, I fit my permit to the car and drove it straight to Townsville 1.5hrs down the road.

Went past a few Cops also, they never bothered to turn around and chase me. I drove straight into my mates workshop, he checked over the car with me and did the RW (bonnet struts were ****ed, but that's not a RW item) and I went to straight to the transport depo and registered the car.

Stayed with a mate and drove the Statesman down the Mackay the next morning, around a 4 hour drive. I stayed there for my days off and drove the little Fiesta back to town to re-sell it.

Stopped in fuel in Hughenden and I get a text message from one of my Brothers work mates, she was chasing a small 4 cylinder car to get to work and back in and has $10K to spend.

No worries, I've got this nice Ford Fiesta for sale with 5 months rego and RW for sale for $6000 lol. She purchased the car there and then and when I got to town that afternoon I drove straight to her place and got the cash and I got the RW and rego transfer done next morning for her lol

Anyway, this 2006 Holden Statesman with 170,000 kms on it has given me some drama in Mackay. And because I am not there to fix it, I have to pay a mechanic.

****en coolant leak from thermostat housing at the rear of the V6 engine cost me $1000 (invoice showed $130 for parts and coolant) and now the drivers side window reg is playing up and she won't use the window as it will get stuck down and let 1000ml of rain in every week as Mackay does get a lot of rain.

I don't want to pay someone $500 to replace that window reg when I can do it myself for $100 in parts or so.

So it's time to swap that big girl out with something more reliable until we purchase another Prado. I was looking at buying another used Prado, but sick of looking at them, literally. So **** it, she can drive the Corolla for a little bit and maybe, just maybe I will buy that 300C for her and give her that in a few months time if she sooks about driving a small car again.

I'm hoping to get there mid/late next year, so that 300C should be good. Was my Brothers old car, only has 49,000 kms on it. He sold it 12 years ago and the current owner, his work mate has only used it for school graduation drop offs and hasn't even done 1000km in it 12 years or so.

Here are some pics of the Fiesta, Stato and 300C. :D

I am not suggesting AJ is " less capable"

What is implied is that AJ in his sunset years has a solid gold defensive stratagem at his fingertips

    'I cannot recall'

Do we think AJ will be seen OHMS ?

I've just been trawling back on GAD '22 as I thought someone had a pic,we were all stopped on the side of a NSW highway after pulling out of a sideroad.
A NSW HWY patrol 300C cruised past...did a ewey ..slowed up had a couple of friendly words including "drive safely" ....then gave the 300 a tickle up with a chirp.
Here is us on the side of the road with a 300C mention but no pic of the PO.

I dunno why all the other pics turned up.

    OMG Pap.

That 300C is the ugliest POS I’ve seen in a long time.
    FFS don’t go near it.
